Students with a Disability

UCC welcomes applications from students with disabilities. To ensure that all students have the opportunity to fulfil their academic potential at UCC, we reserve a small number of accommodation places where the impact of a student’s disability is such that the student’s participation and retention in university would be at risk without having appropriate accommodation.

Examples where accommodation is recommended due to a disability may include:

students with a significant physical/mobility difficulty

students who are blind/vision impaired

Requests for disability-related housing accommodations are considered on a case-by-case basis. Only students who have submitted an application for Campus Accommodation in 2023/2024 will be considered on grounds of disability. 1st year students are prioritised, however recognizing our very limited space availability, accommodation cannot be guaranteed even where a student meets the criteria. Where accommodation is recommended due to a disability, the room is allocated for one year only and students must reapply each year.

We strongly encourage all students to explore other accommodation options. For advice and information, please visit https://www.ucc.ie/en/accommodation/accomadvice/

If you wish to be considered for disability-related housing accommodations and you have submitted an application for UCC accommodation on or before the closing date of March 16th, 2023, please complete this form.
