As they are only open 3 days a week, this is a must stop if you are in the area. It is the oldest public farmers market in the country, housed in an historic building. There are over 60 local vendors offering everything from fresh meats, produce, cheeses as well as an array of food and snacks where you can grab a bite to eat. We, unfortunately, didn't have enough time to wander all of the aisles as we got there near closing and wish we could have spent longer.

Loved this place. We walked through the whole market before going on a food tour. Returned later to make purchases forgetting that they close at 3. Will have to make a trip tomorrow to pick up items to take home.

I felt like I had to go since it is the oldest market in the US. And though I couldn't buy most (I was headed across the border) I did get the best cup of coffee and some homemade pet treats for my Grandhund. I talked with someone later who had also been there that morning and he went on about a brisket he had purchased. So much fresh, homegrown, and locally grown. I would say a must do.

Check the hours before you go and get there early. It was a very hot day when we went and there is no a/c there. Beautiful flowers at several stalls. The meat and deli items looked delicious and were cheaper than the area where we live. ** If you live far away bring a cooler and get some ice. Wish we had!** Food to purchase ready to eat including some gluten free bakery items. Prices are high on some things so look around before you purchase.

It was raining so we decided an indoor market was a good place to start the day. We were not dissatisfied. Breakfast was made with produce straight from the farm. The vendors were knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a great way to spend a leisurely Saturday morning! Can’t wait to go back.

We stopped by the Lancaster Central Market on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The market was packed with shoppers and vendors were friendly and offered a variety of food and gift items. Lots of fun to visit with family and friends!

The Lancaster Central Market was fun, delicious food and a unique market. Glad you recommended it. Caution... if you park in the parking lot - be sure to push the button for the ticket when you enter. You need it when you exit.

Lots of prepared food stalls ans several produce. I was expecting more crafts and amish/mennonite fare etc. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the variety offered. The goat stall had great goat cheese with cherries and something different-goat sticks (as opposed to beef). Prices very reasonable at the coffee stand. A nice outing but do not plan to spend a lengthy time here.
