Best sushi we’ve ever had, the most amazing experience with the chef preparing in front of you. All the staff were excellent a special mention to willam, Nicolas and Robbie for the brilliant service! Definitely a must when you visit Barcelona and will definitely be back.

We consider ourselves Sushi eaters, even dabled in cooking it at home. However, we did not know how good it is until we came here.
The staff is more than friendly, they cook it fresh (they show you the actual fresh fish they will use), the portions are perfectly balanced, and the price is more than fair.
We will definitely be back.

I have eaten sushi all over the world and this was by far the best! In fact it was one of the best meals I've ever had (and I've eaten at Michelin-starred restaurants!) The tasting menu was worth every penny as we were served amazingly fresh and creatively prepared Japanese cuisine. The wine paired perfectly with the meal and the service was fantastic. It was so good that we wound up eating here three times over a weeklong stay, and even making a trek across Barcelona to do it. Don't miss this place!!!!

Please note that it's what it really says in the title) It's a takeaway point, not really a restaurant. There is only one table and it just stands just there in open, which feels really weird. Since it's not a restaurant, there's no guest washroom and no standard restaurant service. They don't bring you warm wet towels at the start of the meal and don't provide even dry napkins. And you can't order green tea, which is complete nonsense for a Japanese restaurant.
All this would be easily forgotten if the food was great. But it's not. These were the tiniest rolls I've ever seen in my life, for a hefty price. And this also would be ok, if they were anything special. But they aren't. Yes, the fish is fresh, but is it really a problem to find fresh fish in Barcelona? The rice was good, but not anything special. And as someone mentioned earlier, the rolls feel dry. We had one that wasn't dry, with green sauce at the top, but it was sour. Combined with the soy sauce that was extremely salty to our taste, it wasn't good at all. For this amount of salt and sourness you must add at least some sweetness for the balance. But everything in this place seems to lack balance, from the seating and service to the food served.
It was interesting to see and try the real wasabi root, but for some reason it had zero spiciness. Literally zero.
We had much better experiences in Barcelona for much less money.

Wehave passed walking by this place a couple of times. We have know from friends about it, basically as one of the best emerging Sushi Take Away in Barcelona. We checked it out and you can also take your Sushi right there, but you have to make a previous reservation in advance.
The staff is very kind and helped us to make the selection, which was excellent. Starting with the edamame, going through the different nigiris and sushis, prepared very professionally, with dedication and the right ambient, made us agree that we haven’t had such a delicious sushi outside of Japan.
The proportion of fish, ingredientes und rice was excellent and specially the fish was very fresh and melting in your mouth.
Definitely JARA Sushi is a place to go to, when you want to enjoy a excellent Japanese style sushi in Barcelona.

Amazing experience from start to finish! Walked upon it by chance and were lucky enough to find and available table. Very small but extremely chique, with a sushi bar right in front so you can watch as the chef cooks! We picked an assorted menu to share between 2, with extremely tasty rolls and tuna and salmon nigirs! I’d describe them thoroughly but I truly believe it would be best if you experienced it for yourselves! We were even treated to a “super salmon nigiri” that was the absolute best piece of sushi I’ve ever had.
The service was formidable, Nico and Robby were very sweet and treated us beautifully.
I assure you, Jara will not disappoint!!

I think it’s mostly a take out place, as there are very few tables in a small room. However, service was excellent and the food is really excellent. We tried a sashimi platter, 7 different cuts, all fresh and really flavourful. The spicy shrimp roll was really nice, as was the spicy tuna roll (came with very hot sauce). We also had this yellowtail roll with yuzu dressing, fab flavour combo. Immensely enjoyed the sushi and rolls, would happily go back or even order take-out (we could see the chef prepping the fish and lovingly box it up)

Sometimes u read these uniform glowing 5 star reviews and wonder “could this actually be real?” Well, where Jara Sushi is concerned it’s 100% real! This little sushi bar is incredible. The food, atmosphere, music and hospitality you will experience from brothers/owners operators Jonathan and Robbie is top notch. Their fish looks and tastes amazing. And I know sushi… I have spent a lot of money in my lifetime eating it all over the globe and Jara absolutely ranks up there among my favorite experiences ever! My entire family loved their meal here and I fed a family of 5 for what it often costs me for 1 in NYC or LA. If you love great sushi, do yourself a favor and believe what you read and make Jara a must dine when in Barcelona. It is a winner!!

The best sushi restaurant in my opinion in Barcelona. Fresh fish, excellent service and the feeling of dining in a sushi den in Tokyo with a very famous but eccentric chef. The place is small and can accommodate only 8 diners, which gives a feeling of personal and meticulous service.
The dishes were outstanding and the dessert was a special surprise of cream catalan with the aroma of yuzu.

Jara’s Sushi was simply to die for. Along with a background story stating their restaurants origin, we were provided with detailed explanations of their menu and fish. The service was spectacular as we constantly conversed with the staff, and the food came quick. All of the dishes were of great quality and each dish had a special taste of its own. It would be a shame if a fellow Sushi lover missed out on this hidden gem!

I took my wife here for her birthday meal, having pre-booked from the UK. This was the best sushi experience we have had anywhere in the world and we eat out a lot!
We had the taster menu together with the paired wines and each course was incredible. This small family restaurant was a refreshing change to the usual large scale or chairs that mostly offer sushi. The family treated us impeccably and the service as well as the food is something we will forever remember.

Loved this teeny tiny restaurant. The staff care deeply about the quality of service and food. Highly recommend the spicy tuna futomaki, I’ve never had anything like it. All ingredients are fresh and prepared professionally. Seating for 8 people total in the whole restaurant so call ahead if you need a guarantee but take out is also welcome. Staff speak English, Spanish and more.

Would highly recommend - delicious sushi and nigiri and all reasonably priced. The tasting platter was so yummy!! We dined in - there are two tables so would recommend booking otherwise they do takeaway. Lovely staff and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The chef prepared the sushi in front of us which was a lovely experience.

The best sushi I have ever eaten…. Hands down.
I’d like to consider myself a regular eater of sushi and can honestly say that this is by far the best. We enjoyed the tasting menus for €70 each which is great value for the quality, portion, and execution. Unsure how this place doesn’t have a Michelin star.
If you don’t visit here whilst you’re in Barcelona then it’s criminal.

The sushi was wonderful! The service exceptional! Robby, Francisco, and Wilman all attend to us. They were all friendly and if you want to learn more about sushi, Robby is your guy. I ask a lot of questions, and he was a willing wealth of knowledge. This is a relatively new sushi restaurant in Barcelona which opened during the pandemic, but give them a few more months and you’ll find it tough to get a table. They already seems to be the best rated sushi restaurant on Trip Advisor in Barcelona and certainly well deserved!There are only enough spots for 8 so book in advance! I’m American but have lived in Barcelona for 8 years and glad I finally found a go to sushi place! Great job, guys!!
