You have to wait in the queue at least an hour if you are luck. There are only two staff working in the ticket desk very slowly.

Good afternoon. After calling the Caixaforum phone number, they say they don't know anything about the XI Festival Inclús festival that is taking place at the CaixaForum facilities (according to their brochures, and information on the CaixaFórum website itself, and where I have already reserved tickets) this coming week. They indicate that "it will probably be at the Cosmocaixa." IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT I CALL - FOR OTHER ISSUES - AND THE STAFF DOES NOT KNOW OR ARE INFORMED ABOUT THE EXHIBITIONS OR EVENTS THAT ARE HELD IN THE CENTER WHERE THEY WORK. Total lack of professionalism. Thank you and greetings.

Walking around Barcelona on the tourist bus, my girlfriend and I passed by the Caixa Forum Barcelona museum and its beautiful architecture. Located in the Montjuïc area in a former modernist textile factory designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, it is owned by the la Caixa banking foundation. The factory was known as the best industrial plant in the city in 1911, the year it was built.

First, I was very critical of the Caixa Forum in Barcelona, but when we arrived it convinced me to be a super decision!

An eclectic trio of exhibitions were absorbing. Six Egyptian mummies from the British Museum featured. Accompanied with the latest scientific research, elucidating the customs and society of civilisations of millennia ago.
A selection from the Prado comprised great works including premier portraits by luminaries such as Goya.
Another exposition constituted non European magical outlooks, plus contemporary interpretations of eternal themes.
Its home is worthy of mention. Another marvellous legacy from the industrial powerhouse of textiles, a former textile factory imagined by the famous Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Completed in 1911 it lasted only 8 years producing textiles.
Having a number of roles until it was acquired by the Foundation in 1963, it opened as a cultural outlet in 2002.

la exposición El siglo del retrato. Colecciones del Museo del Prado una autentica delicia, ademas la hicimos con guía cosa que vale mucho la pena, nos toco una señora de mediana edad con el pelo gris que nos dio unas explicaciones de lo mas interesantes y muy bien argumentadas, por tanto no os la perdáis la exposición es de lo mejor que he visto últimamente en Barcelona

It's a cultural center in the city of Barcelona located by the Montjuic Mountain, near the Catalonia National Art Museum. The building harbouring the center, in modernist style, is very interesting. It was built under the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch's design to be used as a textile factory. Before being destined for the current use it was conveniently restored and a new entrance designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isoztaki was created.
Many cultural events are held in that center, such as temporary exhibitions, concerts, talks, tuition. There is also a media library and a restaurant.
I have visited that place during my stays in Barcelona, on the occasion of several fascinating exhibitions. Among others, one on Etruscan art and civilisation, and another on Ancient Greek and Roman arts can be outlined. The last time I was in that center, on June 14th 2022, the pertinent exhibition was on tattoo culture.
That consisted of a lot of samples about tattoo and related art works and topics in the form of pictures, photographs, tapestry, masks, dresses and others. It was very interesting to contemplate different types of tattoo, from the simplest to the most complex ones, as well as the different techniques implemented throughout History. Apart from the already mentioned items, in that exhibition one could see some masks, especially from Thailand, engravings, books, tools for tattooing, suitcases and other objects related to that particular technique.
The majority of works integrating that exhibition are usually exhibited in the Paris Quai Branley – Jacques Chirac. Every work requires a specific and detailed examination about its nature and the characteristics thereof in order to provide with the appropriate design of the concrete packaging.
The fact of contemplating the works concerned was in general a pleasant exercice. Apart from the enjoyment itself deriving from such a contemplation, the exhibition offered the possibility to learn a great deal about the technique concerned and its history. For example, the attentive observation of some of the items was useful to learn how in China, both the status and the meaning of the tattoo passed through very different stages. It was forbidden at the beginning of Confucianism. In other epochs it was tolerated or just preserved by some ethnic groups living in areas out of the control of the rulers, such as the Derungs and the Dais. Whereas, in Taiwan tattooing it's been a common practice for several millennia among indigenous people, like the Atayels, Even nowadays it's an important factor of cultural identity in those communities against the assimilation policy of the State. In both countries tattooing has largely spread and has reached much relevance in people's culture.
From the foregoing can obviously be gathered that the different exhibitions taking place in CaixaForum are clearly interesting sources of information. It's advisable therefore to try to find out the subject matter of the particular exhibition going on when in Barcelona and, should the occasion arise, endeavour no to miss it.

El caixaforum es un edificio industrial modernista, que había sido un fabrica de telas. remodelado y convertido en centro de exposiciones. hemos ido a ver la exposición sobre Momias del antiguo Egipto y nos ha gustado mucho. Además de ver momias, la exposición explica los procesos e utensilios que utilizaban para el embalsamiento.

I would be interested in the guided tour of the works from the Phillips collection. I do not see a choice of language, so am I to conclude that the tours are not offered in English? Thanks.
