“‪Besautiful exhibit‬”

‪كان معرض Kusama الحالي رائعًا بشكل متوقع وكان دليلنا Laura دافئًا وواسع المعرفة وأنيقًا. مكان رائع مع مهمة رائعة.‬

‪برزت هنا بعد ظهر أحد الأيام عندما كان لدينا بعض الوقت بين الأنشطة الأخرى والعشاء. لقد وجدت أنها مثيرة للاهتمام للغاية ، أكثر مما كنت أتوقع. إنه في مبنيين مختلفين ، لذلك لا تفوت ذلك. كان معرض Yoko Ono هناك عندما زرنا ، وأعتقد أنه كان استثنائياً للغاية.‬

‪The current Kusama exhibit was predictably wonderful and our guide Laura was warm, knowledgeable and personable. A wonderful place with an admirable mission.‬

‪Ospitata in due edifici storici situati nel cuore della vecchia Montreal, la Fondation Phi è un altro spazio molto interessante dedicato all'arte contemporanea. La sua programmazione, completamente gratuita, si focalizza su due o tre mostre annuali sempre di grande interesse. Al mio passaggio (maggio 2019) era in corso quella su Yoko Ono. Una sosta che consiglio a tutti gli appassionati.‬

‪We popped in here one afternoon when we had some time between other activities & dinner. I found it quite interesting, more so than I expected. It's in 2 different buildings, so don't miss that. The Yoko Ono exhibit was there when we visited, & I thought it was exceptional, very thought-provling. ‬

‪Museu com entrada gratuita e excelente exposição Jasmina Cibic‬

‪O museu fica bem perto da catedral Notre Dame e possui 2 acessos externos.
A entrada é gratuita mas não abre todos os dias (de quarta a domingo).
A instalação que pudemos conferir foi Jasmina Cibic, simplesmente fantástica!
Mas para crianças pequenas como minha filha (que ficou com muito medo) não foram todas as instalações que pudemos ver..
Destaque para o ótimo atendimento e uma sala no subsolo que oferece livros para leitura e consulta e um espaço para atividades com cortinas, espelhos e um iPad.
Vale a visita !!!!‬

‪Contemporary Art in Old Montreal‬

‪Great multi level space in two old office buildings lovingly restored and adapted. Current show is Jasmina Cibic. Mesmerizing multi media show based on saving architecture that has lost its functions, is out of style or has some controversial political messaging, Exceptionally well done and ties into a complete narrative. Really well curated. Free but do make a donation.‬

‪DHC Foundation is an incredible contemporary art gallery tucked into Old Montreal with exhibitions at the forefront of the art world. Tours and workshops are available or you can just walk in - for free. The staff are very helpful.‬

‪Saw the Bjork Digital exhibit and was very impressed. Virtual Reality pieces and cinema in good spaces. Well trained and helpful staff.‬

‪This is a hidden gem if you appreciate contemporary art. DHC Art has a building with 4 floors plus an annex for exhibition space in Old Montreal. They had experiential art and videos by artist Joan Jonas when we visited. Her art took over all the exhibition space. This was the kind of art you could walk through or sit and watch a video. As an art school grad who is open minded, I appreciated this show. However if you like your art traditional like the usual paintings or sculpture, you may think this is too out there. ‬

‪Interesting space for art and free‬

‪I went on a Sunday after Sunday mass at Notre Dame (which I also advised to attend) . The art gallery is divided in 2 buildings, one has 4 floors and the other 6 rooms and a basement. I went to see the Jonas installation, it was weird but also interesting , but what I inked the most was the space itself, for sure I reccomend this art gallery as Inunderstand they are always showing well known artists.‬
