Bodega Biarritz stands out as a beloved spot, with patrons commending its cozy and unique atmosphere, which is often described as both quirky and charming. The restaurant's hidden location in the back streets adds to its allure, despite sometimes causing queues. While some visitors encounter waits, the service is generally applauded for being accommodating, and the surprise menu—with its fresh, innovative tapas—is a hit for catering to various dietary needs. Guests have called out the excellent value of the set price menu, which is frequently considered worth the wait.

I’ve tried tapas at “good” places a couple times and was always dissatisfied. I felt cheated out of value for my money, was never impressed with the quality, and always left hungry. Not so here. Everything was great and would come here again and again if I could. I forget the exact menu selection but basically it was chefs choice (no seafood here to worry about if you’re not into that), and they brought us like 5 plates of tapas (one at a time). Everything was great and for the first time I actually felt like I had a true meal from eating tapas! The place is small but the staff acknowledges this and makes it work. For instance, we were served through little windows in the wall instead of having the server push through diners trying to get us, which was cool. Besides the food being great, the service was excellent, too.

Visited and chose the €40 selection which was 2 appetisers and 8 tapas dishes, the staff were so welcoming and explained everything clearly. They chose the dishes differently depending on what everyone needed, so I am vegetarian but my husband isn’t so we had half and half. The food was delicious, well presented and well worth the money! We had all that food plus 3 sangrias and it all came to less than €55 which was an absolute bargain. Really lovely atmosphere. The woman server was especially friendly and she could speak so many languages, very impressed! Definitely worth a visit!

Nice and careful staff. We tried one menu of Tapas for € 40 that was for 2 persons but a nice weider named David suggested us the is will be enough for 3 persons as well. The sangria house drink is very good. Nice music and we were also served with a drink from the house.

Amazing!! Amazing food and staff. We got the mango mojito and a strawberry margarita and they both were one of the best drinks we’ve had in the city so far. Food was just as great but make sure you come on an empty stomach because you get so much and all of it is delicious. I highly recommend getting the 2nd option (40eu) with the ham, cheese and fresh bread. Staff also are great and will change out anything you don’t like and they really just make sure you have a great experience. David also was amazing and so friendly. We felt like we were eatting dinner with a bunch of our friends. Will absolutely be coming back next time in Barcelona.

The setting of the restaurant is quite nice and they have a wide variety of tapas. However, the atmosphere suffered heavily from the mass tourism. First we needed to wait in a long queue for more than 20 minutes, then we felt to be under time pressure to make space for the next guests. Everything is set up for mass feeding and fast and frequent change of guests: - Only cash accepted - No more drinks after food - Food comes quickly (course by course) and plates are removed quickly as well Without this time pressure it would be so much nicer. A pity.

Thank you so much for your feedback. However I don't understand...how you want to go at 100 meters of Las Ramblas in a number 4 from more than 9000 restaurants in Barcelona and no see any tourist? Every body find us with TripAdvisor...exactly like you ...so TripAdvisor is a website for tourists .right? But your explication about the quick service is very helpful for to do better in the future. Thanks a lot again. And we hope to see you again for another opportunity. Best regards

This place caught our eye as very highly rated on trip advisor, and large queues to get in on a Sunday night, we went back just after opening on Monday (30 december) and were given the option of sitting a table ('you will have company later') or at the bar ('you'll be more comfortable'). There was probably 30-40 seats in total. We sat at the table and the food flowed, the restauranteur brings tapas of their choice, and if you don't like it they will happily replace it - we enjoyed everything. Felt quite rushed (fast music, constant service, felt like they were looking to turn over tables asap), food was good to very good. Quite pricey for 3 courses and a glass of wine (28 euros each i think), and whilst very good, didn't wow us.

My girl friend and I visited this place on our weekend trip to Barcelona in January 2020 and were not disappointed! After seeing the reviews for this tapas and it only being a 5 min walk from our accommodation we decided to give it a go. There was a slight wait for a table (10 mins) but had drinks while we waited and a table was cleared for us very quickly. We opted for option A on the menu and explained that my girl friend was vegetarian. They were extremely amenable and gave us half meat dishes and half vegetarian. Can honestly say some of the tapas I had here was up there with the best food I’ve ever had in my life! The service was outstanding and drinks were nice and easy to order. David helped serve us who was very helpful along with the two other gentlemen waiters who’s name we unfortunately didn’t get. Personally didn’t see any signs whatsoever of a poor production that some 1* reviews on here suggest. Would recommend this place to anyone in the area and would like to thank the staff that made our anniversary meal so brilliant.

First things first.. the food is delicious here and the staff are amongst the most friendly and attentive that I have ever seen in Barcelona. Nothing is too much trouble and they deserve all the praise they get However, there are some subtle details which make you suspicious that make you believe you have walked into a trap. The wait is on a bench just inside the opening curtain and when you are waiting, the staff offer you a trilingual menu (Spanish, English and French). However, this is not a menu offering all the goods available in three languages but to an exhortation to try the set menu at a fixed price, which is comparatively poor value for money. The chalk boards on the outside and inside listing all the tapas available are Spanish only so you can’t order individual dishes unless you have a firm command of Spanish. In addition to this, all the staff are trilingual which is bizarre for a ‘traditional’ tapas bar and makes you suspicious how authentic this place is. My advice is to take this place as an introduction to tapas and insist on being told what each dish is. Once you have been told, you can move on to other establishments with cheaper fare. Also, bring money as this is a pricey first lesson.

We actually arrived at sister tapas bar Biarritz 1881 but because of an oven problem a wonderful girl called Kate took us to their sister bar the Bodega Biarritz and explained the choice of menu (we had the surprise menu 2), making sure we had a good table sitting down and we were overcome by the welcome and care that Kate took with us, helping us with the choice of wine and explaining that we could change any dish we did not like (of which there were none as they were all fantastic). The atmosphere was great and the tapas bar was full all evening, and Kate even took us back to the main street from where we knew the way back to our hotel. I think they may be on holiday during the first part of February for a short while and I hope that wherever they are, some locals will help them in the same hospitable way that Kate helped us.

The place had a good lively atmosphere and was tastefully decorated, ~30 minutes wait to be seated but food came quickly. We ordered the surprise tapas menu with appetisers, although some plates were a little disappointing, overall food was enjoyable. Drinks are relatively cheap, mojito grande for 10 euros came in a large beer glass and was decently strong.

...if a "best tapas" in Barcelona exists at all, still we can only recommend this lovely spot where you'll be attentively guided through the various menu's options by a motivated, young waiters'team. We went for the house-suggested formula which combines the typical ham + cheese duo (delicious) with various hot tapas (equally outstanding). Thank you Gianmarco for taking care of us and allowing us to have this very, very nice experience !

Three of us went to Bodega Biarritz on a rainy afternoon. Despite it not being formal open hours our host David took us in and look after us. The surprise menu was fantastic and even with one fussy eater he managed to get 100% satisfaction. The guarantee to replace any dish we could not eat was of great comfort and certainly not the norm. So a big thank you and rav review for David and the team from the us...the girls from Australia!

Great service, great food excellent atmosphere.Awesome and friendly welcome by Cesar and Brenda added to our magical night! The food was absolutley phenomenal and was a lovely touch to a friends birthday we will definetly be returning some great memories to hold onto.Thank you for making it a special night for him and for looking after us. The birthday treat was a special touch to his night shots of mango sambuca on a bed of fresh sweet mango peels was so lovely and he was mindblown by this lovely gesture.

Food was incredible, I’ll be dreaming about my quiche forever. Staff speaks Spanish, French, & English. Very vegetarian friendly, my traveling companions eat meat so the server was able to recommend tapas for all of us to enjoy. Would definitely recommend and will visit again!

on a recent city break, found this gem while getting lost in the gothic area. there was a que to get in so we took a chance. had to wait in the hall for about 30 mins but well worth it. u cannot order drink after u have eaten so the turn around of customers is fairly quick. went for the second option, 8 tapas, no idea what we were getting. nothing was left behind, everything was lovely and staff were very nice. when we go back to Barcelona, I will be goin here again
