The only pub in Lerwick worth a visit in my opinion .Comfy seats, warm fire,like sitting in your own living room. Nice bar staff and the best land lady known to man who keeps her eye on the ball at all times , can sort out rowdies without even raising her voice and knows who's next to be served even when the place is hoaching on her famous Karaoke nights , well done Anna and staff

Doug’s was a cracking, traditional pub and an absolute must see if you’re in Lerwick and fancy a pint or a dram!
Lovely landlady and a friendly atmosphere was exactly what we wanted after a 15 mile hike around one of the island’s many beauty spots.
Has all the old features that are unfortunately becoming rarer these days and the great local pub feel with a buzz that you want when travelling.
Perfect pub really!

We visited here late on a Saturday evening and despite the Covid restrictions we were made to feel very welcome and a table near the bar was quickly found for us. There was a great selection of drinks, particularly whisky, and we spent a very pleasant time there enjoying the drinks, live music and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Just back from an evening at the Douglas Arms, and what a fantastic pub.
Full of charm and very genuine hospitality (something missing from many venues) and just a very nice vibe.
Prices seemed very reasonable, decor and general feel is certainly a level or two above the norm. The focus on all of the Up Helly Aa memorabilia is very impressive and very well done. The place is spotless, warm, comfortable & inviting.
And cheers to Anna, who has been running the place for over 50 years (she started when she was 7!!) 🤡
If you are in, or going to Lerwick, do yourself a favour and pop in for a drink, you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic bucket list tick. 13 wonderful musicians doing their thing in the lovely Douglas Arms, but the evening was spoilt by a table of pissheads who were determined to ruin my experience- why go there if not wanting to listen to these amazing musicians?- so disrespectful. There must be loads of other bars in Lerwick where their shekles would be welcomed and they could slather and blabber at will like the debauched inebriates that they were!.

We saw a notice in the tourist place and went there last tuesday. Great collection of musicians on Guitar , Mandolin , Banjo , Concertina , whistle and fiddle. We were lucky enough to be there when the fiddlers from Fjanna dropped in for a few tunes . For me it was the highlight of the trip. I will try and post a video later
