Dog welcome just shop not allow. There is also playground for children as well walk a fair distanceVisited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 July 2023
- Paul KBirmingham, United Kingdom175 contributionsInterestingFirstly the museum is free which always helps of course they have a box for voluntary donations. There is a good array of vintage vehicles and displays including trams buses and even shopfronts and the famous white telephone boxes hull is famous for. The museum is about 15-20 walk from the main shopping area (it's right by the river) There is a small gift shop and I would definitely go back next time I'm in hull.Visited September 2022Travelled with familyWritten 31 August 2023
- Bill MNorth Ferriby, United Kingdom130 contributionsFantastic attraction and freeAdjacent to the river in the old town, this is a hidden gem with great exhibits on show including vehicles of all descriptions and eras. Good access for families and couples young and old. Very well presented adjacent to other museum type offerings. Excellent for nostalgia and times gone bye with trams trains and buses. Vintage cars and old shops recreated for access. Good 60 - 90 minutes, tidy with pleasant staff and mandatory gift shop. Right next door to the main museum.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 December 2023
- Horseman397Scunthorpe, United Kingdom87 contributionsNice museumI visited with my family over half term and was pleasantly surprised that the museum seemed much bigger once inside. It’s free to enter and has a variety of exhibits that kept my teenage son entertained. It’s definitely worth an hour of your time if you are visiting the old town areaVisited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 February 2024
- Harry A1 contributionA great way to see a glimpse of the pastA really interesting place to visit with a great selection of things to see. Really enjoyed the old high street with the shops as they were a few years ago and the old trams and other vehicles are worth seeing too. Excellent free museum and Very well set out and imaginative displaysVisited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 February 2024
- Clare JStoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom67 contributionsAmazing! This museum was amazing! It’s a must for everyone of all ages. We loved reminiscing whilst checking out all the very well organised and presented shops, rooms and streets. Lovely staff too. We thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely recommend to all of our friends and family. It’s actually free admission, we would pay to spend our day here no problem. I think they’re missing a trick though - a coffee shop/tea room would be perfect here.Thank you for leaving us a review. We are so pleased that you had a good time visiting us! Your feedback about the café has been passed on to our teams. Hope to see you again soon!Written 17 April 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 April 2024
- Brad S12 contributionsGreat Street Life MusuemHad a great morning in the Museum, the staff were helpful and very chatty. The museum was very well laid out and a lot of the exhibitions were interactive and interesting. The old shops were great and brought back a lot of memories. The next time we are in Hull, i will definitely be visiting again. The musem is free to visit but we left a donation, it was that good.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 April 2024
- Bunkry LoonStonehaven, United Kingdom337 contributionsFree transport museum, great for all ages.Another free museum, this transport museum is definitely worth visiting whatever your age. Some of the displays were local to Hull and Yorkshire (tram, bus, carriages, etc) and there's a reconstructed cobbled High Street. There's a coach "ride" where you can sit inside and get a feel for what it might have felt like riding through the streets of Hull. Give yourself a good hour at least to explore.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 April 2024

Streetlife is a brilliant find. No charge to enter and so much to see. Amazing to know it was all a private collector who started it. Something for everyone from carriages to street shops, bikes and cars. Make sure to go upstairs otherwise you will miss so much of the museum. Really great hour or so spent wandering around.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 May 2024

Oh my goodness! If I could leave more than 5 stars for this review I would!
This place is an amazing visit, I can honestly say this is the best museum I have ever visited by a long way! Free entry too!
The layout of a bygone street, complete with shops housing vintage packages from back in the day, it features a Co-op, a chemist, sweet shop, arcade toys and more…
Downstairs are the vintage trams, trains, buses, cars and carts. You can sit in one of the trams and a vintage car simulator- bring £1- we didn’t!
There’s also a room full of vintage arcade/pier games- including a What the butler saw machine-I love these things and would love to collect some! All in working order, you can test them for 20p- again bring some coins!
Upstairs are more exhibits including vintage bicycles and horse drawn carriages, a postage carriage which is another simulator- no coins needed for this one.
I will definitely be returning in the near future, this time with my daughter as there’s plenty for children to enjoy!

Wonderful museum, interesting. Staff friendly. Local school children there in groups all well behaved. Should be advertised more especially local press and in areas like Withernsea, Hornsea etc. toilet facilities are good and clean. Accessibility is good. It is FREE entry. Would highly recommend and will revisit.

A sure fire winner when it comes to nostalgia. i think they could charge a small admission charge and people would still visit in high numbers.

Fantastic place, well worth a visit. The range of vehicles is extensive, and all in such great condition. The 'sets' are all superb - we loved the chemist shop and the story behind it.
Can't believe it's free!

We had to book on line, but I think you just turn up now that restrictions are lifted, you might still need face masks and distancing though.

No don't think so as only trained guide dogs allowed into places like this , but you can always ring to check.
