    Nice short visit
We had a pleasant short visit. The staff in the café were very friendly and helpful. The food options were clearly home-made. It was lovely to watch the deer being fed and the man in charge was very enthusiastic. Quite a steep walk up to the gardens. Good value entrance fee.

    Amazing tour guide
This beautiful house was shown to us by a family member who was passionate about the house and its history. I often get bored after a while, visiting old buildings, but not here . Our guide was animated and fun and brought the information she imparted to life. It is a lived in house and instead of lots of roped off areas that make you feel that you really shouldn't be there, I felt welcome and comfortable. Thank you for such an interesting visit.

    Amazing 🤩
The tour guide was really nice 😊 and was full of quirky facts about the house and its family history! The house was still being lived in so it had a cosy, homely feel 👌 We learnt a lot about the house and all of the background into the people who had lived there! The grounds were huge and along with the house 🏠 there was an informative museum In the ground there was a lovely herd of wild deer 🦌 We loved this visit soooooo much and we definitely 💯 recommend! It was value for money 💵 and we enjoyed a lot than the national trust parks and places!! There was a lot more freedom which made it more fun :)

Great house and Hen is a fabulous tour guide
Visited yesterday (18/06), it was a great visit and "Hen" our tour guide made our visit so interesting, she was fabulous. As a family member who had spent her childhood there, she brought the house to life. It's so worth visiting this little place, full of history. The only reason that I gave 4/5, was the lady in the cafe / reception area. She really wasn't concerned about the very long queue or the time constraint for the next tour, whilst she stood chatting with a chap for several minutes, all the time the queue got longer and the minutes were ticking away before the next hourly tour. Then she flitted off, then she had a nice chitty -chat with the German tour guide and then she flitted off again. In the end the ladies in front of us gave up waiting and left.

A beautiful property rich in history, make sure to be there during deer feeding!
We really enjoyed the tour around the property, our guide was enthusiastic and welcoming. The property has a large selection of rooms each with their story to tell, and containing a variety of fascinating objects from the family history. The food at the patio café was delicious, particularly the half panini with salad. We greatly enjoyed being introduced to the deer by the groundskeeper who was very open in sharing his own stories from looking after these wonderful creatures, each of which had their own (often cheeky) personality.

Fantastic guided tour followed by cream tea
We were early for our midday guided tour so walked around the gardens first. We took part in a guided tour which was fantastic, the lady giving the tour was great fun, what also made it great as we entered the house, we met the lady of the house and her two black labs. The house is great but was made so much more special by having the guided tour, providing all of the relevant history. A one hour tour followed by cream tea which was fantastic, well worth every penny.

Prideaux Place is one of Cornwall's gems, but its own jewel is the vibrant guidance of Henrietta Parkes. As a fully-fledged member of the still resident family, Henrietta brings childhood memories and a warming intimacy to her highly entertaining commentary of the building's long and distinguished history. A brief sighting of the current head of the family, Peter Prideaux-Brune, being wheeled through the dining room. vodka and tonic in hand, adds to the sense that Prideaux Place is very much lived in and enjoyed, creating a very special atmosphere during a good hour of being shown around some truly outstanding rooms.

Henrietta enthralled us with tales of the family from her own upbringing all the way back to Prideaux Place's Tudor origins. Clocks, staircases, teddy bears, semi-castored chairs, sawn-off shotguns, Civil War shenanigans and a great deal more captured our attention on every step of the tour. I would normally moan about a £15 ticket price, but not today.

Outside, relatively small but attractive gardens offer some quiet to recall and reflect on the information onslaught in the house, and tea on the terrace, looking eastward across the grazing Fallow Deer to Bodmin Moor, is a much-deserved reward for an hour or so of intense but joyful concentration. Highly recommended!

Finally we managed to get to visit this house! We were lucky as we were the only ones on out tour so it made us feel quite special. The tour guide was full of knowledge of the house and it’s great to see it’s not like other stately homes where you can’t touch anything Prideaux is somewhere that is used.
A good hour tour with a very cheerful guide well worth it.

What a wonderful morning we had wandering around the gardens enjoying the flowers, the trees and the views, finding benches to sit and relax and listen to the birds. Would definitely recommend. The cake and coffee was very good too.

If you have experienced problems at Harlyn Bay car park then these are the owners of the land who have employed the car parking management firm that have caused your misery.
I'll let you decide if they are worthy of your custom.
