- Anne-Maree SSydney, Australia49 contributionsBeach at PatongNice location for a few days. Our hotel was in great location to the beach for a good 6km loop safely. A lot of Pot around though, so air quality smells like camel poo. Beach clean and plenty places to sit and not be hassled too muchVisited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 September 2023
- MosesPH1,557 contributionsCrowded and TouristyThis is one of the main tourist attractions in Phuket. The beachfront itself is busy and lots of water sport activities on offer. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and activity along the streets by the beach. It's very much a party town with nightlife. Signs indicating tsunami hazard zone provide a reminder that this was one of the most affected areas of the tsunami in 2004.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 September 2023
- wkchan258Hong Kong, China8 contributionsa beach with diversityI have been to there a few months ago and living close to Patong Beach. Not the most beautiful beach in Phuket but there are a lot of shops and restaurant, hotels, bars, walking street around this beach. And that was lively at night. Recommended!Visited April 2023Travelled soloWritten 1 October 2023
- LAI2342Shah Alam, Malaysia110 contributionsFun in the sunThousands thronged Patong beach when I was there. Activities include swimming, jet skiing, paragliding, boating, sun-bathing and just watching. Tourists of diverse nationalities having fun in the sun. Many hotels and restaurants along the beach road make it convenient. Beach is clean and safe.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 10 November 2023
- AdiS58Switzerland6 contributionsPatong changed a lot, do not go any more!!Patong is no more nice as it was before Covid. It is allmost like Pattaya now. Just party and drinking everywhere. And worst is that you have tousends of Indian's, Arab's and Russian Tourists. And specialy the Arabs and Russian are loud, unfreindly and sometimes very rude! Specialy to the thai working people. And then since WEED is legal u have also a lot of nasty cheap weed smokers! Also near Bagla Rd. Everything overpriced and no more good (Streetfood in Bangla). If u go Phuket choose an other beach location or go to Hua Hin.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 19 November 2023
- Stuart C14 contributionsPatong beachArrived at the beach preferring to use deck chairs. The deck chairs where under trees meaning no sun. Laid down on the sand. Noticed two cruisers in the bay. Lots of Russian people where on the beach. The beach vendors where back and forth with various items for sale.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 2 December 2023
- Rodalita BFrancisco I. Madero Municipality, Mexico3,229 contributionsPatong Beach excellent beachesPatong Beach - located on the west cost of the Island . The most popular beach in old of Phuket . Its a beautiful place. Spots for watersports parasailing windsurfing. And jetskiing...it is near and of Bangla road. Patong beach famous town in Phuket with a 3 km.long beach a very great hotel.. a nice sandy beach with white sand and well beauriful sea..peaceful and quiet beach..for evening staff is very accomodating and smiley at the guest..Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 December 2023
- MediocrityPhobicKnysna, South Africa71 contributionsAvoid the street stalls to preserve your sanityAbsolutely captivated by Patong! The scenery is breathtaking, the food sumptuous, and the people incredibly hospitable. However, I can't give it a perfect 5 due to unpleasant encounters with some shopkeepers, particularly those run by Nepalese individuals. In my experience, they've been cunning negotiators and quite grumpy and arrogant. To preserve your zen moment in Patong, it might be advisable to steer clear of their stalls.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 December 2023
- Richard JSydney, Australia9 contributionsNot for meIt is unfortunate the brochures do not depict the incredible amount of traffic. Add time to get from point A to B. The sea of umbrella and humans really destroys the beach. Walking around patong especially at night very congested and not pleasant For me certainly not my favourite place in the worldVisited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 December 2023
- MarkHyderabad District, India4 contributionsPatong beachIt is a nice beach, which has different vibes during morning and evening. During evening, all the people from different countries visit here, the local food stalls and other cultural programs. A lot of local thai people will be also there. It is a nice experience. But in morning, it is different beach, a lot of water sports activities. Most of the people at that time will be foreigners. You can easily wear bikinis and swimsuits at that time.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 21 December 2023

I reached Phuket early in the morning and started my day by visiting the Patong beach. There are many cafes and eateries beside the Patong beach. I had my breakfast at one of them and then spent some quality time at the beach. At beach, water sports such as parasailing and jet ride were available.

One of the bustling beaches of thailand. Many tourists have a great time here. Many beach activities, such as, jet-ski riding, bout trips, and parachuting.

Not the best on the island, still central and vibrant, it deserves a visit. Water is clean, as almost everywhere on the island. Of course often crowded, still beautifulness and closeness makes the visit a good idea.

What should we do with the bag or telephone with us on the beach? Is it safe to leave the bag alone?

Transportation:
Private taxi to Patong = 800 Baht
Smart Bus to Patong = 175 Baht (go to their website for bus schedule)
Mini-bus to Patong = 200 Bhat (as mentioned you need to wait until it is full)
Hotels:
I will recommend in Patong = The Royal Paradise Hotel & Spa.
My family and I are planning to join the speedboat tour... How long is the duration for the tour and will we get wet?

if you are planning phi phi, then would request you to ask what all will be covered, as its recommended you stay overnight to enjoy the whole or in a day you can have 2 option
1. go to phi phi stay have lunch and return
2. go to phi phi, then go ahead to see the other small attractions, like caves, monkey island, etc
so ask the operator for inclusions

Also if the sail gets wet do not parasail. Seen some people drop outa the sky a few times because of this. That's just I the last couple of weeks at Patong.

What would you say would be the daily spending allowance for food and also for first time to Patong and Thailand what tours would you recommend to get an overall look. We are there for 12 days . One more question also what currency do you suggest and also is card or cash better. Thanks Janelle. Whoops forgot one thing what is the cost of transfer from airport to Patong and do you have to prebook

Surrin beach
Bang Tao beach
Nia Harn Beach
These beaches are cleaner
Visit the Temples Big Buddha is the most popular.
Spend the day at Nia Harn Beach then go to Phrom Thep Cape to watch the sunset before heading back for night life in Patong.
Thai bbq is a fun experience hassasipi rd has the best one.
If you like Dim Sum Mala in Kata/Karon is very good and well priced.
Day Trips like Phi phi island and James Bond Island (only use Diamond Sea Boat Tours!) Dont accept any other operator.
Naka night market is great for buying gifts i wouldn't shop anywhere else.
Dont rent Scooters or Motorcycles unless you want to die!
Transfer by Nana Taxi 700baht
Lots of decent meals at the night markets
7/11s have locked pricing less rip offs
Super cheap purple signs have the cheapest beer Nanai road
Daily spending wow seriouy depends $2 and up for draught...Bangla can drain you fast if you dont watch.
Never leave drinks unattended
Half full moons money grabs!but you might enjoy it.
