Private Trabant tour - just brilliant!
Booked private 3 hr Trabant tour via river cruise company (linked to Cityrama). Communication prior to day was excellent and directions to meet at office perfect. Receptionist at office was lovely and most welcoming. Very personal tour, just the right amount of history explained and husband’s drive of the car was memorable! Tour guide was a very lovely man - nothing felt rushed and his navigation through the city streets was brilliant fun. Would we recommend ? Absolutely.

    Great Tour!
Excellent! Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting and answered all questions asked of him on the tour. It was a large group which can sometimes be challenging but he handled it like a pro. I would highly recommend this tour. The Parliament tour was great and well worth the price. He also takes great photos!

Lovely way to spend a day and learn.
This tour was a great way to get an overview of Budapest as a city of two halves. I personally loved the Budai side the most. Our bus was good and the driver and tour guide had excellent knowledge and I got a good history lesson on Hungary turbulence over its time. The information given when asked questions was great. The boat trip at the end of the bus tour was lovely and relaxing. I enjoy the tour.

    Nice place, not good tour.
The palace was lovely, if you have extra time in Budapest. However the guide was doing a dual language tour and she spent a lot of time speaking Spanish and next to nothing in English. We eventually asked if we could just go ahead and meet her somewhere. She laughed and said this is how it usually goes, one group always gives up and goes on. Nice to know.

    Worth it!
Worth the money! The guides were very lovely, informative and polite. The sights were beautiful, and the information received was useful to understand Hungary’s history and culture.

    Kudos for Basil!
We honestly chose the tour due to the Parliament's ticket being sold out during our visit, but we ended up in a very pleasant experience, especially thanks to our guide. "Basil" was amazingly passionate, engaging, funny, interesting and a perfect guide for the 3-hour tour. Definitely recommended!

Reconsider the tour company not the palace
Dual language tour in which one language got lengthy explanations and the other stood around waiting for their 30 seconds. Half way thru we asked where to meet them later and the guide said “this always happens, one group always gives up”. Palace was nice.

    Danube Bend Day Tour
Took the Danube Bend tour with Gynri as our guide. As we were only 4 participants it turned out to be a private tour! Gynri is the best guide you could wish for. He is such a good hearted gentleman, a knowledgeable person and an attentive guide. Thank you Gynri for making this day a memorable one.

    Wrong address
Please take care that the adress for pick up is clearly stated in the e-mail! We booked and traveled to the bathory street 19 which is the adress mentioned in the mail. Apparently there are two bathory streets!!! And they are miles apart, so when we were called by the guide they told us there was nothing they could do and there was no refund possible. We weren’t the only people affected by this so we complained a bit and they offered us a different tour which we had to quickly go to. So we booked a taxi and what followed was a wild goose chase looking for the correct bus. Eventually we made it, but of course we we’re really disappointed because this was a city tour where as we wanted to see the royal palace of Sissi. Really if you book this tour make sure you have the right address!!!

    Synagogue tour
Wonderful guide. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and had a good sense of humor. She made the entire experience enjoyable and educational. She was obviously passionate about the synagogue and Jewish history in Hungary.

Never again hate 1 travel not handicap friendly
If I could give zero I would ! Worst experience on a vacation of my life ! The bus drove quickly and what was being discussed or pointed out you couldn’t make heads or tails ! The tour guide was so rude everything rushed hurried ! No where did it say climbing stairs would be involved and the option for opting out of climbing stairs for handicap people was not given ! I would never recommend this tour or any other tour by this group given they poorly handled having handicap and elderly people who were physically unable to traverse steep Rocky stairs to the Buda castle. Some of these people requested to sit out and wait on the bus and they were told not they could not wait on the bus!

Sadly this tour was a complete waste of money. We ended up on a bilingual tour with Spanish and English. Unfortunately for the 4 English customers we missed most of the commentary from our guide because she spoke mostly in Spanish and when she did speak in English the other customers were laughing and talking so you couldn’t hear what was being said or going on. Most tours I have been on I have learnt a lot about the history of the area we visited but this one I learnt nothing and felt very disconnected. The bus was supposed to have air conditioning in it and it didn’t seem to work at the back of the van. My seat belt didn’t work either. The information I have from when I purchased the tickets said it would have a boat ride back. This didn’t happen and no explanation why not. The worst thing was there were some jokes happening in Spanish that we had no idea what they were laughing at. So all in all I was really disappointed and would recommend before you purchase see if it is a bilingual tour or not.

The tour had both English and Spanish interpretations concurrently. Can be slightly confusing especially when you have a bigger tour group who needed to wait for the guide to finish, but the guide did such an amazing job!! The stories are great, but the views could have been better due to a gloomy/foggy day (not the agency's fault). Lunch service at the recommended hotel could be better managed, as we had to wait quite a while for the food which lessened our time to explore the place. Otherwise, the overall experience is good.

The tourist guide is very good, fluent in English and Spanish. The itinerary arrangement is fine. But highly recommended to come between May and September. November is cold you may meet rainy or cloudy weather, and no river cruise in the Danube.
All the stops are good except the lunch in Siraly restaurant in Visegrádi is terrible. Maybe it's because the only opened restaurant in that small town, at least in Nov 2023. Waiting for food to be served and eating spent all the 1 hour. No room for the "Panoramic view from the fortress". With this service, they still take a 10% service fee without asking. In Bratislava, they took the basic price first, and then I gave the tip later, which I feel more respected.

Before booking this tour, check whether works at Esztergom Basilica are complete, as it's undergoing such major restoration works that everything other than the altar painting was either covered up or pulled up. It was basically the tour of a building site after which we walked across the terrace to see the view of the Danube.

At Visigrad, the restaurant was mediocre. Szentendre was very commercialised but pretty, better to have lunch there to have more time to walk around.

Thank You for choosing our programme to be a part of Your travel plans, and sharing Your opinion with us! Despite the changing closures at the basilica in Esztergom, our expert guides are trying to show guests the best side and interesing history of this iconic attraction, that should not be missed on a tour to this area. Hoping that You took some valuable memories with You, kind regards, Anita

Took the Danube Bend tour with Vera the guide, and Peter the driver. I must say I came to Hungary to connect with my heritage and culture, as my parents immigrated to Canada in 1956. This tour was way above and beyond my expectations. Peter was very funny, courteous and professional. Vera was amazing! Her knowledge of history, the who, what, when and why, was extremely informative and captivating. I felt transported back in time, standing in the historical spots, that her stories brought to life. I felt like I was experiencing Hungary with two good friends, and had the Magyar blood stirred within me. I highly recommend Cityrama Tours for the best experience at the best value!
