Beautiful Views from the Observation Deck
Beautiful views from the observation deck. Just FYI...there is no designated parking for Skyline Queenstown. There are some public and private parking available with walking distance, but they fill up quickly (you need a mobile phone to pay for the parking). Our tickets were for the Gondola plus 3 Luge rides. To get to the Luge Entrance from the Skyline Top Terminal, you had to walk through a maze of stairs and planks to get there. Which also meant you had to climb the stairs to get back to the Top Terminal to take the Gondola back down to the Base Terminals. Halfway down, we realized that we would probably not be able to climb all the stairs back up. So, we turned around and headed back to the Top Terminal. We asked about a refund on the Luge portion of our ticket, but no one could do a refund, since we purchased the tickets online.

Just the 2 of us for breakfast. Not much on the menu but drinks were great. Tea and coffee. View was amazing from both the gondola and viewing platform

Stunning Views, But Mixed Feelings at Skyline Queenstown
Skyline Queenstown offers breathtaking views of the Remarkables, which were the highlight of our visit. The steep Gondola ride and viewing platform provided stunning perspectives of the landscape. However, the food was overpriced and average, which was a bit disappointing. Having experienced the luge in Rotorua’s Skyline, this one felt a bit anticlimactic. We didn’t get to try the paragliding or bungee jumping, which seem to be the unique attractions here compared to Rotorua’s swing chair. Overall, it’s a bucket list activity in Queenstown, but I’d rate it 3.5 stars.

      Luge
Unlimited rides for the day with family - so much fun. Food in cafe is reasonably priced and very nice. Carpark not open yet so parking was tricky.

The view from the top was spectacular. We enjoyed ludge ride very much. It was worth visiting, we spent almost half day there to chill.

      Lovely view terrible food
The views were lovely but the food in the restaurant was terrible. I was so disappointed having been here 8years ago I was looking forward to the fantastic experience I had back then. I think the restaurant has changed hands because the food was really below standard especially for the price.

Breathtaking view & beautiful weather in ZQN 😍
Excellent view and breathtaking and also beautiful weather when we went there for the day. First time for my sister and my boyfriend to go up on the gondola and first time for my sister to play the luge. We're all had so much fun time. Would like to go there again in the future.

      Must do in Queenstown
Definitely a highlight of the trip. Gondola is loads of fun, only a short walk from the city to the base (maybe 500m). Luge is loads of fun for all ages and accessed on a little chair lift. Dinner was fantastic, great atmosphere and delicious good quality food. Would definitely go again!

Spotless facility and views are amazing!
I was not expecting the awesome experience - not only is the ride beautiful - the bar and food up top was excellent! Try the Wakitupi Whisper - lavender martini - worth the trip alone!

Give it a miss, not worth the $$ at the moment
The view might be pretty on a clear day, but that’s where it ends. Very expensive to simply end up in the middle of a construction zone with only a small viewing deck. It’s great that they are sinking the $$ into upgrades, but consideration should be given to a discounted rate while it’s undergoing renovations. The cafe is lacklustre, the gift-shop is crammed and if you need to access the luge be prepared to climb lots of scaffolding stairs. We enjoyed the gondola ride, but for $59/adult just for the gondola our money would’ve been better spent on other attractions in Queenstown. No doubt when the upgrades are finished it will likely be great, but there wasn’t even a smile to be found on a single staff member.

Overpriced and overhyped self guided tour of a disorganised construction site.
Way too expensive. $80pp+ for a chair lift ride and a few runs on a very average luge. Not worth the hype. Not to mention the entire thing is currently a giant construction site. If you fancy a clamber over some wet scaffolding, a walk up a very steep temporary path and an aerial view of a logging coupe this one’s for you! My advice, save your money! Most disappointing part of the day was watching a mum attempting to negotiate the scaffolding with a pram… don’t worry plenty of paying customers to help…. No staff in sight though. The staff we did encounter could literally not have been less interested in being at work. How this is the #1 tourist attraction in Queenstown is completely beyond me.

      The MTB Uplift is EPIC!
Skyline Queenstown's Gondola-assisted uplift service is awesome! The team loaded my bike like pros, and the Gondola ride up gave us epic views. At the top, my bike was ready, and it was all smooth sailing. Definitely recommend it!

TOURIST ATTRACTION, GREAT VIEWS ! $59 PLUS EXTRAS IS OUTRAGIOUS FOR SKI LIFT RIDE
Undeniable Views! $59 is expensive for a ski lift ride. When you get to top there are more tourist Money Grab opportunities. Unless you are eating, drinking , riding luge, or ½ mile uphill walk path, This is a 1/2-hour return trip. Once on top there is: 1/2 mile hiking trail with different views of basin below 2-3 tracks to ride "luge" (NOT included in the $59 gondola ride up) Downhill bike tracks (if you are a biker) Buffet Restaurant ($80 Per Person) Tourist triket shops Place to purchase drinks There is ton of construction on top as of May '24 which seriously detracts from the views There is a $59 90 min boat cruise of harbor which is monies much better spent on Queenstown experience.

Way too expensive for the experience & I'm not a cheap person
We rode the gondola up past construction, loud and mars the view. Then we got to the top to see any other experiences would be much money to shell out. Drank water in the cafe, paced the modest balcony to watch the ridiculous luge (worse than an amusement park ride), and finally came back down feeling like that was a waste. There are so many free, beautiful scenic viewpoints why pay for this?

Exceeded our expectations. Haven't been to buffet for over 30 years and even better now. Entrees and desert station the highlights. Booked premium dining with window seat and drinks. Well worth it. Only avail seating was 4.45 but turns out this is the best time as gets busy. Fantastic service and views amazing. Worth the price.

Picturesque place with panoramic views of Queenstown & lake. A few outdoor activities are available when you reach the top. Go Karting, biking, hiking to name a few. The Bar is well stocked to quench your thirst. The restaurant provides a well spread buffet for $ 76

Great service but it was a bit steep and there was lots of logs on the ground which looked dangerous. Beautiful view though. The cemetery looked damaged by all those logs too.

Travelling with my family of 6 adults and a great afternoon was had by all incorporating gondola, luge and dinner. The queues for the gondola can be long so recommend booking on-line beforehand, but it’s well worth it if only for the views. The luge is fun for all ages and the buffet at the restaurant is to die for!

Great place for couples but make sure
You are hungry! Booked the premium version which guarantees a window seat and well worth it - especially as you get a free drink each.
V good service for lunch which was basically eat until you drop. Good for veggies and meat eaters, views just stunning and the gondola trip up topped it off.

Well worth a romantic splash out!!

The visited for dinner and can say that the buffet was excellent with a good variety that was well prepared. The view, however, is just OK when you think about all of the other beautiful places to see in New Zealand. My wife and I really liked Queenstown, but the view simply did not live up to the hype.

The last time I went on the gondola / buffet dinner it was in 2012 and a totally awesome experience. This time not so magical and it was to celebrate my birthday. The gondola cars were grubby and windows smeared and dirty and the restaurant was packed -really jammed packed shoulder to shoulder at the bar before being taken to a table. The dress code was really poor for such a restaurant with people turning in tramping clothing, T-shirts, shorts, jandals. View, food and service great at table and the buffet moved well with a good variety. We all caught COVID-19 which was unavoidable due to the amount of people squeezed into one establishment. 1 working female toilet, all the rest were blocked - some with sewage up to the brim - horrible. (Not the facilities fault, but disgusting female patrons). I know an upgrade is in progress, but please up the standard of dress code for dining and limit the amount of people in the restaurant once this upgrade is complete.

It was my partner's first time dining at the Stratosphere and he loved it! As promised when booking, we got a lovely seat by the window which had the best views over the city. Our waiter was Brasile and he was amazing! Bubbly personality looked after us and made us feel really welcomed! Would highly recommend the lunch + gondola package!
