I was in Mexico for my work. Got to visit this amazing resort and the staff was super friendly and nice. I met an Intern Karime there who helped me a lot and became my local translator as I'm not good with Spanish. She was really funny to talk and helped me alot with my days there as a tourist. I really wish all tourists meet her and it creates a friendly environment

This makes it 5 yrs in a row that we have visited ABBWR.When you 1st arrive you are greeted at the front desk with a smile. Snorkeling right off the beach. Food at all the restaurants and snack bar tasty and neatly displayed. The room was always ready after a long day at the beach. We spent more time at the far end of the beach,our beach server was Duceli, she was pleasant and helped me every day with my Spanish also Evlalio was ready to fill the glasses when you sat at the bar. We are planning for next years visit.

This is our second visit to ABBWR and we love it!
Well-deserved shout-outs go to:
Nathalie S (PR): went out of her way to make sure we were treated like royalty and helped to ensure our special occasions were perfect!
Carlos (concierge) - amazing! From the moment we arrived he made us feel special and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. He even brought us his waterproof case so that we could take pics while snorkeling!
Rubi (activities) - amazing! Always smiling, full of energy. We loved aqua gym sessions, dance lessons, Spanish lessons and turtle talk!
Maribella and Patrica at the beach, Liliana at the sushi bar, Aurora at the omelette station, Manuel at the pool bar (diablo darling!), Salvador, Aleandro, Lourdes at mixology (shaky shaky shaky!) and the bartenders at the lobby bar: outstanding service!
Snorkeling is incredible (swam with turtles every day), the resort is big enough to provide lots of activities but still small enough that faces become familiar & people remember you, the ocean and pool are right outside your room, excellent spa and yoga studio, outstanding hospitality, 5 star dining,
Everything about this resort is so great!! If i was to make one small recommendation, it would be to have some more veggie options in the restaurants so that we had more choices, but the meals were still delicious!!!
We loved our trip so much that we just booked another trip this fall :) Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

This was our first visit to this Akumal Bay Beach but hope to visit again soon. The reviews are spot on for this resort. We like to spend most of our time at the beach and Akumal Bay is just perfect. I think one of the best things about this resort is that you see the ocean almost wherever you go here. We were amazed that even though the hotel was full it never felt that way. This is a small resort and everything is within a short walk. We always got a spot on the beach and most days got the same one. Drink service on the beach was the best. We brought thermal mugs but then left them in the room as the drinks are served in full glasses so we just didn't need them. Fresh beach towels were available throughout the day. There are beautiful curtained beds around the pool which were always free except one day.
You don't need restaurant reservations here, we dined in all four and two twice. We usually went around 6pm when they opened and had no wait. The staff here are all amazing with fantastic friendly service and this was regardless of tips. If you needed anything there was someone to help you. We really enjoyed the food here. One of my favorite things was the fresh smoothie bar. The fresh fruit and veggies here are so good.
We both enjoyed the Rise and Shine yoga with Hiram. Large studio with full ocean view and sound, just a joy to take his class. Yoga was a draw to coming here and did not disappoint.
Snorkeling right in front of the beach was fantastic. Can't wait to return.

The location and experiences were great, but the best impression was left by the staff. Thank you especially to Ofilio Toribio Adriana, Carlos Olarte, Raul, Zaisha, Jhovana, the bartender Dagoberto, the cleaning staff, and the man in the buffet who served us coffee every day (we missed him Sunday, forgot his name!). I highly recommend the yoga and meditation sessions. All of the instructors were great. I found plenty of vegan options. The entertainment team led great volleyball games.
