Review of Hotel Almira
Reviewed Apr 17, 2014via mobile
This is a good pit stop hotel...meaning, good for overnight travellers. In our case, La Union was our first pit stop before our main destination...Pagudpud. This is a very very basic hotel. Rooms are satisfactory. The staff are very accommodating, always there to help you, although quite slow in service but still...trying very hard to please their customer. Accommodations include breakfast (plated...garlic rice- tapa/ham/bangus-eggs and coffee.

We stay in the hotel for 5 days, At first everything was fine, but on our last day (March 29, 2014) i was shock, i was about to take the shower, as i look at the pale i saw this little creatures (kitikiti) moving all over the bottom of the pale, at first i thought this was just because of the small insects because the window at the CR was open, so i pour the water in the bowl, after that i refill the pale with water from their faucet, i was frightened that those creatures were there again, we even try to get some water form their sink inside their CR, and its the same, a number of those creatures (kitikiti) came out of the faucet, we contact the front desk and told them about what happened, they asked for apology and even offered us to take a bath at the other room, i said never mind, after i saw those creatures they think that we can still use their water to clean and refresh our selves. they don't even bother to visit us in our room to check the water, all i hear from them is sorry sir!

In contrary with the first review and in their website, we were disgusted when we had an overnight stay in their 3rd floor room.

First, the flush lever of the toilet bowl was broken. So, we were told to transfer to the 4th floor room but unfortunately whole flushing system of the toilet bowl is not functioning. We decided to go back to the 3rd floor room and wait for the handyman to fix it (almost 20 minutes).

Secondly, the television has no remote and we had to use the button controls of the tv. My gosh, when I push the channel button, the sound volume increased.

Thirdly, that morning when I used the bidet spray, the spray itself was detached from its hose.

With this, all we can hear from their staff is "Sorry, Sir", " Sorry, Maam"

Luckily, the air-conditioning unit runs perfectly.

With a room rate of 1,700 pesos, it's not worth it. It should had been 1,000 pesos or 900 pesos.

Hotel is quite basic and has the friendliest staff. Checked in here every week for the past 5 years. Prices are good, and they have a range of rooms for every budget. Compared to the other hotels in the area, I prefer to stay here.
