Popped in with a couple of mates for a quick curry. Blimey it was hot! I'm not complaining because it was described as such on the menu card but my Sri Lankan curry was excellent and served to blow the cobwebs away (and nearly the top off my head). Decor is a bit spartan but we weren't these for the furnishings. Many thanks.

Strange but true there’s a distinct lack of places to actually eat in on Portland. We had been recommended the Balti Island by the B&B we were staying at. The food was tasty. Service was attentive without being intrusive.

Excellent tasty food. Portions were a bit small though for the price. Popadums and dips VERY expensive. Menu's were filthy. If the menus hadn't been so sticky and dirty I would have given our visit 4 stars.

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden Indian restaurant on Portland Isle, great tasting curry, super fast delivery and good quality price. Highly recommend on a grey or cold evening on Portland or even in summer. Nan bread had bags of flavour and spices tasted authentic.

Visited Balti House to get chicken Balti and Masala curry for myself and daughter.
Food was cooked just how we like it, great taste, served perfectly in quality takeaway trays. Will be visiting again. Thanks

We went in for dinner on a weekday hardly anyone in the restaurant. Ordered our meals and starter. The starter came with three tiny balls of onion banks. You can get bigger ones at co-op at have the price. Very weird green sause. Meals come and the portions were so small not worth the price. They wouldn't fill a child up much less my husband. I had chicken balti 4 pieces of chicken most of the veg was just onion. Hubby had chicken korma 3 pieces with a super sweet sauce. The price is way to High for what we got. The rest of the night had a very poor tummy. Don't eat there bad service and bad food.

Not usually one to complain but this warranted a review. The food was awful! It was full of oil and stained everything it touched, we threw away the plates and tea towels as we just couldn't get the oil out. The chicken was tasteless and looked very processed and the whole experience was one I just don't want to repeat. I won't be going here again

We went to this restaurant last week in the evening. We had been travelling and were cold, hungry and tired. We ordered starters which were very mediocre and charged £6.75 for 1 butterfly prawn! Papadoms were £1.20 each.
We ordered lamb dansak but received chicken and the sauce was very tomatoey, instead of lovely spiced lentil. We decided to share a rice, as portion sizes are usually quite generous. Not here! £4 .50 for about 4 table spoons. Had to ask for another.
Our bill was £52.45 for a poor substitute for curry for 2 people and that was without drinks which we noticed later he appeared to have forgotten to add to the bill. Pleased we didn't complain, it would have given him time to remember the beers!

I recently had a takeaway with a number of my work colleagues and my curry was forgotten. My rice and bhajis were left at the work gate and eventually my curry was delivered by which time the rice and bhajis were stone cold. I am not sure the curry was what I ordered but what I do know is the lid was not on properly and it was just slung in the bag so it leaked. I emailed them to complain and it is now over a week with no answer. I was very disappointed and certainly will never use the again as they were quick enough to take my money but not to reply to me.

Food disappointing. Slightly warm with bland tastes. Was expecting a lot from expensive prices. Lots of ingredients missing from dishes like peppers and tomatoes you get with sizzling dishes.
Onions served with poppadoms missing coriander, tomatoes and cucumber
This is a restaurant run on a very low budget. A rip off.

Possibly the worst curry I have ever had the displeasure of eating. In fact, it was so bad I only had one mouthful. I ordered a chicken pathia, which tasted nothing like it should. No fresh herbs and spices and subtle sweetness you’d expect from this dish, just red hot heat. My husband said the same about his chicken madras. My son’s friend’s said his butter chicken tasted chalky and the chicken wasn’t nice and my son said his chicken tikka masala tasted awful. We’d been looking forward to these and none of us were able to eat them. We were all very disappointed

Had a superb takeaway. Food arrived piping hot, and was presented superbly.
All of our dishes, which included garlic chicken, lamb korai and tikka masala were incredibly tasty, and flavoursome.
Absolutely immaculate takeaway, and would highly recommend.

What are these sauces made of. Don't seem to be real at all. No onions or anything you can recognise. Packet mixes from a wholesale Asian supplier? Mixed in a bucket. Produced for takeaways that can't afford a decent chef. These are the worst currys I've ever had. all the sauces the same gloopy consistancy just different colours from yellow (korma) to bright luminous red (masalla) with different levels of sugar and chilli I suspect that they are made of semolina powder which gives them there gelatinous wobble and also means they are probably dairy free gluten free nut free. But also taste free.

We ordered online from our Airbnb and within 15mins our order was ready to collect. Thank you for my NHS discount. We took our meal with us to the beach after you kindly provided us with plastic cutlery.
Our meals were delicious, couldn’t fault it at all ... mild curries, lovely fresh naan breads. One of the nicest curries I have had. Ate the lot!

Looked forward to a takeaway after long day working, well so disappointed all ended in the bin, food not even fit to give to the dogs! I had Malaya a mild curry with lychee and pineapple, sounds lovely ! Well the sauce was disgusting thick yellow slop it contained a couple of pineapple rings presumably from a tin, no lychees and a few runner beans(I think), I had this with coconut rice (over cooked and warm), after a couple of mouth fulls I felt sick, so binned it. My husband had chicken Ceylon, this he has had previous with no problems, but this appeared to be similar slop with debatable chicken!! This was binned too (not like him).I dont know why food was so bad , it was like we had been given leftovers, needless to say we will not be going there again and I could kick myself for not taking it back and asking for a refund. Even writing this the thought of the food is making me feel sick.
