Sometimes you read something and think what a bargain and are often disappointed. 3 courses €14.
Starter excellent. Potato skins and chilli/ tandoori vegetable soup both delicious.
Main chicken with mash and mushroom sauce absolutely amazing really tasty.
Shack pie excellent.( Shepherds pie!!!)
Puddings were both really good.
Service was excellent. Well worth a visit opposite Temple Bar. A hidden treasure great value for money.

We a party of 4 had two of our evening meals here during our 4 night stay in early December. Located in the centre of the Temple Bar area we managed to get a table on a Wednesday and Saturday night. After showing our vaccination certificates we were allocated our tables. There is plenty of choice on the menu ranging from Irish meals to European options. There is a good wine list. We were informed that our meals would be about 20 minutes as everything was cooked to order. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend this restaurant.

My partner and I had lunch there in January 2021.
The restaurant was clean and comfortable, although maybe slightly cold.
Personnel was polite, efficient and pleasant.
Covid19 measures were applied and Covid19 pass asked at the door, as it should be but often it is not.
We both ordered fish and chips, which was brought to our table after a reasonable wait. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly, not greasy nor old.
We asked for a pint of Guinness each to go with the food. The drink was perfect and, for once, served not chilled.
My dessert, a Bayley cheese cake was nice, although I think it would be better to serve it in a normal bowl. My partner's apple pie was ordinary.
The bill came at around €48 which we found to be a bit pricey, but probably in line with Dublin prices.

We certainly will use your review to know that we need to warm the restaurant more. Yes have complied exhaustively with COVID regulations, but I'm delighted to say, since yesterday, all these regulations have been lifted. These have been difficult times for hospitality and others also, so I really appreciate that you dined with us. Thank you again and I hope we may see you again at The Shack Restaurant.

We ate here for our very first meal in Ireland. We really loved the food and atmosphere the first time, so we capped off our trip with our final meal here as well. There are so many choices in Dublin, yet we had such a nice experience here that we had to go back. The Irish brown bread is such a wonderful accompaniment to the home cooked, authentic Irish meals. Everything we ordered, from the Irish bangers and mash, to the Irish stew, to the fillet of salmon, to the lamb shank, was delicious. My daughter even tried the black pudding and enjoyed it. This restaurant is lovely and the service was terrific. If we're ever in Dublin again, we'd definitely go back!

We had the bangers and mash and the seafood chowder on the lunch menu, which is very reasonable for the area at €10 each. Pints were 6.50. Food was really good, as was the service. Everyone is seated closely, but it isn't the typically loud pub where you have to yell to be heard.

Shocking. No other words for it. The reviews must all be bot generated as it hard to see how anyone eating in this place can give anything other than a 2.
The order was all taken wrong and when the incorrect dishes arrived the replacements were hastily cooked. My black pudding croquettes arrived piping hot on the outside and frozen solid in the middle, not great.
Asking for fries rather than mash was not an option, you had the mash whether you liked it or not and paid extra for the fries.
Bad service, terrible decor and awful food. Potato pancake with mash potatoes, potato filling and grilled potatoes should never be a dish. Boubon biscuits should also never be an adornment to a dessert. €50 for 3 courses of a limited choice menu is very expensive.

You say The order was all taken wrong, and when the incorrect dishes arrived, the replacements were hastily cooked = The order was NOT taken wrong; you ordered Brie, and when it arrived, you wanted Black Pudding.
My black pudding croquettes arrived piping hot on the outside and frozen solid in the middle, not great. You complained, and it was replaced immediately.
Asking for fries rather than mash was not an option. You had the mash whether you liked it or not and paid extra for the fries. No, this is not true. You got the fries, and you DID NOT pay extra for them.
Bad service = Why was the service so bad?
Terrible decor = Why did you come into a restaurant with such terrible décor?
Awful food = why did you not complain?
Potato pancake with mash potatoes, potato filling and grilled potatoes should never be a dish = This is NOT the description of the Potato Pancake.
Boubon biscuits should also never be an adornment to a dessert. = Why? The Cheesecake is on a base of Bourbon Biscuits.
€50 for 3 courses of a limited choice menu is very expensive. = Why did you choose this menu? There were two cheaper menus to choose from that may have suited your budget better: A La carte and a day menu.
Its hard to read your review and accept it is credible.

Stumbled across this by accident.
Very good value-Prices hardly reflective of Dublin, never mind Temple Bar!
An excellent menu highlighting top-quality Irish ingredients and cooking-The mussels were some of the best I have had in a long time.
The manager, John, was the only floor staff, but was attentive to all the tables in the room.
Will DEFINITELY be back,
Just one question: why still cheesy Christmas music?

A lovely restaurant in the Temple Bar area.
A nicely varied menu and prices although not cheap, were similar to other restaurants in this area.
Service was reasonably quick, bearing in mind how busy the restaurant was. My wife and I both had the Irish Stew and would recommend trying it for any prospective diners.
A most enjoyable meal.

We arrived here on the 1st August 2020 for a lovely meal.
The food was amazing.
The starters with bacon were delicious and my partner had the black pudding and I had a taste and it was gorgeous. The mains I had were fish and it was so tasty and my partner had the pie and it tasted so good. The desert was lovely.
I completely recommend this place as a priority for anyone looking for food in Dublin City Centre in the Temple Bar area. The staff are amazing and they are so friendly and will chat with you if you want to.
We will be returning again within the next couple of weeks.

Our server was outstanding! Made us feel welcome, joked with us, and made excellent recommendations. Couldn’t have been a better experience. I wanted bangers & mash, but they were out - I ended up getting a pork bbq sandwich which was very, very good. But the server kept teasing me about the bangers & mash - and unlimited sweet talked the chef to make us some to share at the table. Wonderful, welcoming experience in the heart of Dublin.

Thank you so much to Utza our lovely waitress. Usually eating with an allergy can be a struggle but she put my mind at ease. A complete natural at the job and so kind and genuine. Everyone we spoke to was so sweet but you have made our trip. A real asset to the restaurant. Thank you lovely Utza and staff.

Got to Dublin aon a Sturday went out looking for a place to eat supper found The Shack in the temple Bar area and was pleasantly surprised the service was very good, staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Food came quickly and was really good. Recommended

My general experience of restaurants in tourist areas is that they offer average quality of food and rather overpriced. This is not the case with the Shack. The restaurant offer an excellent quality of food at very reasonable prices. The Irish dishes we tried were very delicious. Beef Ireland and Whiskey Chicken are highly recommended. As regards to price, five dishes non alcoholic drinks and a beer €102. Adding to that the politeness of the staff and the cosy atmosphere make it a “must try” when in Dublin.

Lovely food and good service, it has a nice atmosphere. The only issues that put a dampener on the whole meal was right at the end when the waitress stated how do I want to tip.
I was going to anyway but it shouldn’t be asked upon.

Thee best dinner ! The mussels are to die for. The sauce is wonderful and mussels perfect. I could drink the sauce but no need because the brown bread ranks among the best we had all week. I had the chicken sandwich and although the bun and chicken were good there wasn’t a need because my hubby got the Irish Nachos and that blew it away. Omg! Homemade potato chips covered in premium quality cheese, salsa, guac, and sour cream with jalapeños. May be best dish we had all week. The staff was so lovely. Joking with us and even shared recipes ! Great dinner
