It was quiet because it was May. So still windy and not very busy. The restaurants around are very good. Probably during high season is a busy place... We will check next year

Beautiful beach with lots of locals. Wouldn’t recommend for tourists as there is practically nothing to do other than a quiet stroll, especially in the evenings. A couple restaurants that are miles apart from eachother

This was our second time staying in Castelldefels. We spent too weeks on the beach at a hotel while visiting Barcelona.
We like the fact it is a beautiful, expansive beach with great walking path along the ocean. It is populated mostly by locals and have great amenities as well as sitting benches for breaks from a long
beach walk. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, hotels along the beach for drink or food stops. It is definitely more crowded on weekends when people from Barca come out. We mostly enjoy the beach for walks not swimming, which can be a bit rough with the waves. A lot of people are found windsurfing here not so much swimming like around Sitges.

Beautiful sun swept golden beaches that stretch for miles and miles and miles. Shallow for 50 to 100 metres depending on the location. The sea is calm and warm and so clean. So many places to eat and play sports and so many beach bars with sun loungers and umbrellas. What more could you ask for. Definitely worth a visit or two.

Beautiful 5 km stretch of beach with a long, flat prom to walk, cycle or run along… lots of reasonably priced beach bars and restaurants

Nice quiet beach, clean and well cared for. Not too many tourists, mainly locals. Worth hiring sun lounger and parasol from beach bar if you are spending the day there.

the review was helpful thank you! but is the beach likely to get crowded and (consequently dirty) during peak season? We plan to visit Barcelona (family of four) in the second week of June so we would like to avoid going to all the tourist-y crowded beaches in Barcelona

I haven’t been there in summertime but the beach is long and vast so do not think you will have a problem and it looks quite clean
Another attractive beach in Barcelona is Playa Bogatell more crowded but a lovely smaller beach with a yacht harbour asife and streets full of restaurants very pleasant

Hi, i would like to spend around 10 days in Castelldefels (or near Barcelona) with my wife and our 2 year old sun in the first part of the June. We are searching for clean water, clean beach, perfect for playing with my boy in the water. What do you suggest?

We agree with Michael K, it is one of the best features of the area. We left our clothes and went for a walk up the beach and did not feel unsafe at any time in the 10 days we were there. The are some lovely bars and restaurants in the area

It depends what your expectations are. It's not a kids' club type of place but it is somewhere to bucket and spade with your children, swim in the pool and the sea and walk / play on the beach. I would have taken my children when they were small and do take my 14 year old. I would say there's loads for families to do together but it's not a place for a third party to take the children from parents. There's cycling, roller blading and water sports. We have been several times and loved it. Hope this helps.

Si es muy amplia limpia con varios puestos de gastronomia, sobre la av principal a 100 mts paralela al mar , es un pueblo costero al lado de otro muy limpios ordenados y muy tranquilos , por eso vive alli messi!!! tienes varios lugares para recorrer por caminos de montaña muy pintorescos , y a 15 km esta barcelona, todo por autopistas geniales, eso si tienen peajes; pero rutas, sin tambien y muy cuidadas. una zona montañosa gente amable. no dejes de ir que te gustara , mas con niños.
