- 711meli0 contributionsGreat experienceWe can highly recommend the tour. The waterfall is stunning, and you can even have a bath. The tour guide was very helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious and for us, a very special meal. We ate it the traditional way with our hands and in handmade pottery and plates. All in all, it is very recommendable.Written July 21, 2024

Our guide was thoughtful and put us in front of elephant families, a crocodile, and hundreds of birds. I am a birder and was able to key out 61 species. The trip was simply wonderful! Everything worked like clockwork and we were at Colombo Station in plenty of time. The train ride was everything it’s cracked up to be! - highwayspider0 contributionsDeep in to budhism....We were here in a private tour, all info about budism(theory and practice) were well received, we spotted the people doing prayers&ofrandes, learned not to do pictures to people/tourists in front of budha(!).We saw the famous sacred elephant(mummified). After all a religious experience for the non budhist.Written June 24, 2024

- Bunsen_x0 contributionsKandy .. A must too destinationI am sure it is amazing however having already done Siem Reap etc etc Just about templed out.. The roof however when it shone across the lake was stunning but was shadowed in our opinion by the turtles, Huge Bats, Monitors, Cranes, Egrets Monkeys and Kingfishers in the most amazing TREES surrounding the lake which you can walk around for free... just saying that's all... definitely go here if you can :)Written April 12, 2024
- th_ophilea6080 contributionsGreat visit !Very nice visit !! The driver was very kind. He spoke a very good English and had very smooth driving skills. He explained us a lot about animals and fauna.Written April 5, 2024
- EHateley0 contributionsNice ride through the countryside!Train ride through the beautiful Sri Lankan country side. Only downside is the cost of tickets and we found them difficult to get. There were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids), our seat numbers were not together, but as the train was not busy we swapped seats, so it worked out.Written April 4, 2024
- Gingem20220 contributionsWild Elephants :)Our guide was fantastic, very observant and we were lucky to see crocodiles, elephants :) and lots of birds. On arrival it was very busy and lots of 4x4s crowded together, mostly empty which was sad as we could have shared vehicles and reduced the traffic. However, once we got properly into the park it was much quieter and barely saw anyone else. Lovely picnic spot by the river and the baby elephant made me happyWritten April 3, 2024

Dear Team,
Would it be possible to take the train from Ella to Colombo instead of Badulla to Colombo?
In this case, where could we pick up the train tickets?
Moreover, what is the difference between the train 1002 and the train 1016? Which o e would be the best choice to drive from Ella to Colombo?
Many thanks in advance and kind regards,
Christelle Taille
