Knowledgeable, friendly, funny, safe and accommodating, Liam took us through some amazing countryside often along quiet local roads to distilleries that offered a wide range of whisky choices. The whisky tour was a fantastic experience and Gavin is an absolute legend! We were guided skillfully through some of the greatest distrilleries of the Spey area. I would not hesitate to book Inverness Whisky Tours for my next visit!

Doug was a great driver and guide! always cheerful and great attitude! we had our own whisky venues already booked and planned but he made sure refreshments were in the car and would slot in sightseeing spots along the way that didn't compromise our timetable. highly recommended!

Our guide in our tour was Jim! Such an amazing human been, also super well informed of every place we visited. We really enjoyed a lot our day, visiting places like Loch Ness (From different views), Urquhart Castle (You need to pay the ticket but it definitively worth it), Culloden field, among others. As I was walking on crutches Jim showed lot of patience with me and was the whole day willling to help me. Jim made the most of our trip. Thanks again! Just an advice for the next tourists: If you really want to enjoy the whole day and make the most of your tour, make some sandwiches and bring with you some snacks. Make one for Jim as well ! :) You will be able to eat in beautiful and peaceful places.

I can’t say enough good things about our day with Gavin/ Inverness Whiskey Tours, it exceeded all our expectations. I planned this day for my husband, as he is the Scotch whiskey drinker in our family, but this tour had plenty of things for me as well. First, Gavin is from the Highlands so we learned about whiskey, the community and the beautiful lands. We took the tour at Glenmorangie and it was informative & fun, finishing with a whiskey tasting. Next up was a tasting at Balblair Distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland. Their18 year old whiskey is a must sample! Along our route, Gavin made time for scenic stops/photos and more whiskey tasting. He picked several whiskeys that I enjoyed and had some big peaty/smokey whiskeys that my husband loved. Gavin recommended lunch options for us and we choose an outdoors, pub lunch in Dornoch, and then on to Dunrobin Castle for the tour and falconry exhibition, both were wonderful. On our way back to Inverness we sampled a few more whiskeys and made a quick stop at Black Isle Brewing for a tasting of their beers. (Excellent!). In addition to all this we saw Highland cows, Shetland ponies, seals, birds and the most fabulous vistas. I highly recommend this tour!

Gavin is such a warm and comfortable companion that anything he suggests as tour destinations will be more than wonderful for your time in the Highlands. Our first/other tour with him was six years ago, and when we met again today it was as if we were old friends re-uniting. If you have a "bucket list" of sites to visit in Scotland, Gavin can help you tick those boxes. If you just want to enjoy your time in the area you're visiting, let him help you choose what to see. You'll make a host of great memories and, once home, you'll be recalling fondly the time you spent in his company. I'd give him ten stars if that were an option on TripAdvisor!

Amazing day (2 actually!). Gavin was a gracious knowledgeable local host and guide. He set up a bespoke itinerary prior to the visit. Everything was perfect and as advertised. Highly recommended. Did a second day of sightseeing with one of his colleagues as well—similarly great!

Gavin is a big man with a big personality. His energy is boundless and he has a genuine, infectious love for his country and the Highlands in particular. We had a lovely visit to two distilleries, Dunrobin Castle and a Pictish Broch to finish off the day. Gavin is simply the BEST at what he does, and we recommend him to anyone who wants a lively, fun experience.

We took the Loch Ness Private Tour with Gavin, the owner of Inverness Whisky Tours, and can't stop signing his praises after a truly wonderful day. Gavin picked us up at our hotel, was prompt and jovial, and we set off in his comfortable luxury car to start our day of exploration. As we started off on the drive we talked about some of our must-sees of the day, and I appreciate how he evolved and personalized the tour as the day progressed. We were able to see some off-the-beaten path views of Loch Ness, he arranged a boat tour for us to get out on the water and see Urquhart Castle and learn more about Nessie. He took us to a magical water fall and enchanted my 5 year old daughter with stories of real fairies living in the forest, cruised us down the scenic coastline and found us some local shops for special souvenirs. My one request was seeing a highland cow up close, and he delivered! We ended the day with a walk around the Clava Cairns and Culloden Battlefield. When we got back to the car to end our tour, Gavin set up a little scotch and chocolate tasting to cap off the day. Perhaps the best part of the tour was Gavin's flexibility and thoughtfulness for our 5 year old daughter. He quickly rerouted plans when she stated to get hungry and found us a local spot to each lunch, and he rerouted again to give mom and dad a scenic view in the car when our daughter took a precious 20 minute nap on our the travels, so she got to sleep and recharge and we didn't have to miss out on any of the tour. His local knowledge and hospitality made us feel like we truly got to see the best of Scotland on our visit - thank you Gavin for a wonderful adventure we'll always remember!

From the first inquiry, to the planning, to day-of, Gavin was top-notch to work with and his tour was a highlight of our highlands adventure! Do yourself a favor, ensure you are getting Gavin and his M series X5 diesel if you can - Gavin is GREAT and to cruise the highlands in a luxury SUV is a special treat! We are a family of 4 (kids 2.5 & 6 years) - Gavin picked us & our luggage up at the Glenmorangie Distillery, as we had stayed at the Glenmorangie House the night prior. Gavin had our luggage loaded by the time we got done with our distillery tour and we set off for Dunrobin Castle. His X5 M series diesel is a great luxury SUV to cruise the highlands in and the fact that he has screens and queued up movies for the kids is an added bonus! He gave fantastic history of the area on the way to the castle and we even stopped to watch some seals playing! Once we got to Dunrobin Castle, Gavin gave us the lay of the land and then let us loose while he waited just outside. We were able to tour at our leisure and he was ready to roll when we were. From Dunrobin we headed to Balblair Distillery for a quick tasting, which was quite fun. After the distillery we took a hike to Black Rock Gorge, a beautiful gorge which has appeared in Harry Potter movies. Afterwards, we drank whisky from the quaich and tasted some local chocolates. Finally, he got us to Inverness for check-in at our B&B. I cannot say enough positive things about Gavin - he is a professional, passionate about his homeland and will go out of his way to ensure you have a world-class experience!

I honestly do not have enough good things to say about Gavin and his company. He organized a great day of distilleries and sights for us and it was easily the best day of our vacation. It is obvious he does this because he genuinely loves sharing Scotland (and its whisky) with people. We basically left all the planning up to him and it was the correct choice. He was also able to get us last minute reservations at a fantastic restaurant in Inverness and coordinated a taxi driver (John, who was also a lot of fun to spend time with) for us as well. In short, this is the kind of experience one hopes to have when traveling and very rarely gets. Do yourself a favor and book Gavin himself if you have the opportunity, we can't recommend him highly enough.
