TMCF president provides insight in new report on the crucial role of HBCUs in artificial intelligence 

Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) provided insight in “Leading the AI Revolution: The Crucial Role of HBCUs in Steering AI Leadership.” The report is a joint publication of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies and Complete College America.

The report explores the unprecedented opportunity for historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to lead in a time of societal transformation and technological advancement, examining the role HBCUs can play in steering the AI revolution and ensuring the Black community remains at the forefront.

In a 2018 op-ed, TMCF President & CEO, Harry L. Williams articulated options the Black College Community should begin to consider to help preserve the legacies and secure the future for our nation’s HBCUs and announced an HBCU Sustainability Summit.

TMCF, in partnership with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and the Millennium Leadership Institute (MLI), issued the groundbreaking white paper entitled “Preserving the Legacy and Securing the Future for HBCUs, Solutions from Thought Leaders,” focused on providing Historically Black College and University (HBCU) sustainability solutions.

The white paper focuses on providing solutions for the following areas:

  • Student Enrollment, Sustainability, and Growth
  • Institutional Finances and Investment
  • Sustainable Student Athletic Programs
  • Mergers, Consolidations and Constructive Affiliations
