UPDATED:

A man suspected of a September fatal shooting was arrested by the Vallejo Police Department on Saturday after he led officers on a pursuit and then crashed his car following a traffic stop.

For the alleged actions that unfolded on July 6, Corey Eugene Warren, 46, was arrested on suspicion of evading a peace officer with willful disregard for safety, obstruction, and evading a peace officer causing serious bodily injury or death. He was also charged with suspicion of murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm in connection to the September slaying.

According to Vallejo Police Department PIO Rashad Hollis, dispatchers received a report of a shooting in the 300 block of Fairgrounds Drive at approximately 11:33 p.m. Sept. 30 in addition to a call from a local hospital reporting that a gunshot victim had arrived with life-threatening injuries.

At the time of the shooting, Warren was identified as a suspect but a warrant for his arrest was not issued until Oct. 5.

Warren remained at large until Saturday, when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Curtola Parkway and Cherry Street due to a Vehicle Code violation. According to Hollis, Warren failed to yield for the traffic stop and led officers on a pursuit until he lost control of his vehicle near Grant Street and collided with a residential gate. Following the collision, Hollis said Warren was taken into custody without incident.

Warren remains in custody at the Solano County Jail and bail has been set at $1,613,333.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for an arraignment at 1:30 p.m. in Department 1 of the Justice Center, 530 Union Ave., Fairfield.
