David Charter worked as the chief political correspondent, Brussels correspondent and Berlin correspondent at The Times before becoming the US editor based in Washington DC in 2018. He is now assistant editor (US) of The Times. He has written several books about Britain and the EU, including What Has the EU Ever Done for Us? His latest book is Royal Audience: 70 Years, 13 Presidents — One Queen’s Special Relationship with America.
