Alyson has been writing about sport for 28 years and was named SJA Sports Feature Writer of the Year in 2019. She is a qualified football coach and referee and appears regularly on The Times's podcast The Game. Alyson has also written two novels and is chair of the William Hill Sportsbook of the Year awards.
