Blast kills 12

Nato said three civilian employees were among 12 people killed in a car bomb that targeted a military convoy in the Afghan capital Kabul. The blast tore off the front wall of a private hospital.


China explosion

An explosion at a chemical plant in Shandong, eastern China triggered a fire attended by a dozen rescue crews. The blast came a week after a detonation at a chemical warehouse killed 121 people.
