Tehran: Nineteen people have died in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz after consuming adulterated alcohol bought on the black market. The Fars province judiciary chief, Hassan Ali Amiri, gave warning that the death toll could continue to climb. (AFP)

Hanoi: Vietnam has released a prisoner more than two years before the end of his four-year jail term for posting essays critical of the Communist regime on the internet. Le Chi Quang, 34, had expressed remorse and admitted his crimes, the Foreign Ministry said. (AFP)
