Kandahar: A Canadian foreign affairs official and two civilians were killed and 13 others were injured in Afghanistan when a car swerved into a military convoy and exploded in an apparent suicide attack in Kandahar. Canada has 650 troops in the country. (AP)

Fort Lauderdale: Two teenagers from south Florida suspected of beating a homeless man to death and attacking another have turned themselves in to police. They will face charges of murder, aggravated battery and beating. (AP)

Berlin: Thirty-nine people were injured when a fuel can exploded at a firefighter’s birthday party in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. The firefighter, who had turned 30, suffered serious burns. He and three of his guests were taken to hospital. (AP)
