Nato goal
Skopje: Albania, Croatia and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia issued a joint statement affirming their goal of joining Nato by 2007, ahead of the alliance summit this month. The statement also reaffirmed the group’s determination to fight terrorism. (AFP)
‘Worst’ dictator
Washington: The United States, European Union, Japan and South Korea should jointly confront “the world’s worst totalitarian dictator”, Kim Jong Il of North Korea, to compel him to respect human rights, Vaclav Havel, the former Czech President, said. (AFP)
