KATE WINSLET, 28, is to star in Woody Allen’s first British film alongside fellow Britons Emily Mortimer and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
Details of the $15 million (£8.5 million) production are shrouded in secrecy but it is believed to be set among London’s high society.
It will be filmed on location in London — the first time in Allen’s 33-year career that he has made a film set entirely outside New York.
“I have a great admiration for English actors and actresses and have used them at every opportunity over the years, but now I won’t have to import them to New York,” Allen told Variety.
“My family and I love the idea of spending the summer in London. I only hope I can live up to the high standards of British movies I grew up with.”
