Window watch: Hull set to bring back Campbell

Gary Jacob gives his verdict on the latest transfer gossip

Hull City have opened talks with Fraizer Campbell after agreeing a fee of around £6 million with Manchester United. The forward scored 15 goals to help Hull to win promotion to the Barclays Premier League two seasons ago, but United rejected a £7 million offer to make the deal permanent last summer. Campbell scored only one league goal during his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur last term.

Dead certs

Tottenham will look to sell Kevin-Prince Boateng elsewhere after Borussia Dortmund said they cannot afford the midfield player, whose loan spell has ended. The Germany Under-21 player cost € 7.9 million (then about £4.9 million) when he joined from Hertha Berlin two years ago, since when he has started seven Premier League matches.

Decent bets

Kaká, the AC Milan forward, is expected to have a medical today before a proposed move to Real Madrid. Juan Carlos Hernández, the Real doctor, has flown to Recife, where Brazil play Paraguay in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.

Espanyol want to sign Giovani dos Santos on loan with an option to buy from Tottenham. The Mexico forward made only eight league appearances after he moved from Barcelona for an initial £4.7 million. He ended last season on loan at Ipswich Town.

Arsenal must increase the personal terms offered in a four-year deal to Thomas Vermaelen, according to Soren Lerby, the player's agent. Reports in the Netherlands said that a fee was agreed on Saturday with Ajax for the Belgium defender.

Manchester United are interested in Antonio Valencia, but are unwilling to meet the £16 million valuation of the Wigan Athletic winger.
