Wimbledon

Sir, I am surprised that Wimbledon is concerned about those who have won tickets in the tournament’s public ballot choosing to sell them at a profit (report, June 20). Surely those willing to pay £720 for two tickets are “people who genuinely wish to attend the event”.

As for me, I shall be content to watch the occasional match on television in between dips into the sea.

Yours faithfully,

ALAN MILLARD

Sir, With the recent shortage of rain my lawn is exactly like concrete (letter, June 21).
