Joe Hart has been named as Manchester City’s Premier League PFA Community Champion. All clubs put forward the player they feel has contributed most to their community programme and City chose Hart, now on loan at Italian club Torino, and Izzy Christiansen for their work with the City In The Community scheme last season.
Other Premier League community champions are Petr Cech at Arsenal, Chris Smalling at Manchester United and Willian at Chelsea. The PFA also noted the outstanding work that Everton’s Leighton Baines does at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, among the 38,957 community visits carried out by PFA members last season.
“Our work is extensive but far from over,” John Hudson, the PFA’s director of corporate social responsibility, said.
