What you don’t eat will cost you

ONE Nigerian restaurant in East London has told its customers to clean their plates or pay a donation to charity, according to Third Sector (Jan 18).

Diners who leave more than a few spoonfuls on their plates from the all-you-can-eat buffet are accosted by the owner, Toks Odebunmi, and fined £2.50. The proceeds are given to the local Oxfam shop.

Mr Odebunmi says that he wants to discourage customers from wasting food, saying that most people welcomed the idea.
