There’s no harm in being a little vain. Vanity has a negative vibe to it, but it’s just about taking care of your appearance, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. What might be wrong is the attitude that goes with it, but that’s down to each individual. I approach my clothes with great energy and, when there’s a character in mind, humour comes into play. I’m a stylist, so I have countless hours of trying things on under my belt. I have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn’t. What takes time is my hair — having it short for spring and summer really helps.

The whole idea behind my styling is that it’s possible to look sophisticated and elegant without having to overdress. I love blending classic tailoring with the casual look. Such a mix makes you ready for pretty much any occasion. My look involves patterns, tailored pants, trainers and a carefully chosen accessory. It’s about creating a “feel” with elements that individually might say something else. My style hero is Outkast’s Andre 3000, because he finds ways to convey his masculinity through his suave sophistication.
