Founded in 2005 by Ayesha Vardag, the firm is well known for its work on divorce and family litigation matters for extremely wealthy clients. Over the years it has represented princes, aristocrats and millionaires.

This year Vardags launched a High Court writ against Hannah Marshall, a former employee, over a saga related to the firm’s dress code. It accused her of leaking an internal memo on the subject that was then featured extensively in the national press.

The document stated, for example, that female employees should brush their hair, avoid cardigans and endeavour to look “discreetly sexy”, while men should never wear “brown [shoes] in town”.
