Two more weeks to win the prize of a lifetime — a job as a photographer on The Times

IMPORTANT news for young photographers . . . the entry date for The Times/Tabasco Young Photographer of the Year award has been extended by two weeks until midnight, March 7.

So there is still time to win the country’s most important photographic competition with its prize of a six-month fully paid contract for a job on The Times.

The winner will have the opportunity to work on the main news picture desk as well as on features, arts and sport. There will be the unparalleled opportunity to work and learn alongside some of the leading photographers in national newspapers.

Once again, we are looking for young photographers aged between 19 and 25 who have the flair, imagination and determination to succeed on a national newspaper.

Entries must be of three prints or images in one of the categories: action, food and entertainment, portraiture. Here are three of this year’s entries all of whom could follow in the footsteps of our third winner Sophie Laslett, who said: “This has been the most exciting and rewarding six months of my life.”
