“Age is horrible for all of us, but she falls from a greater height,” says Carrie Fisher of her mother, Debbie Reynolds. This film, which dropped into last week’s schedules in response to the two Hollywood greats’ deaths at Christmas, follows two best friends — they even lived next door to each other — as they prepare for shows, bicker over mobile phones and discuss mental illness. At heart, it is a family love story, and much time is spent poring over old pictures. “What’s good about losing your memory is ... so many surprises,” notes Fisher.

COMEDY
Cold Feet

DOCUMENTARY
Hidden Australia — Black In The Outback Monday, BBC3, from 10am
The blossoming of Reggie Yates, a former Top of the Pops presenter, as a serious film-maker may be an even bigger leap into the unexpected than Ross Kemp’s rebirth. He meets one of Australia’s biggest Aboriginal communities, where he finds people living on the fringes, a society riven by alcohol addiction and young people held back by racism. Can he also find some hope?
