Nobilis/PC (£19.99)
In this arid, turn-based strategy game players take control of a fledgeling television station, setting up studios to make quiz shows and soaps, planning intricate television schedules, and negotiating advertising contracts to appear in the commercial breaks. Most departments, such as the advertising agency and the bank, are dotted around a tiny town, making this one of those games that threatens to wear out a mouse as you dash from one area to another to make decisions. However, just as you start to feel like Michael Grade, you realise that running ITV for real might be an easier proposition. I played the game only on the easiest setting, and it was a gruelling beast.
