Sir, For some years on Scottish rivers in the West, Scots anglers have been subject to English River Board authority (letter, Sept 4).

In the early 1980s Parliament changed the North Sea boundary between Scotland and England, annexing for the latter thousands of square miles of possibly valuable oil rights. This will probably become a disputed zone if and when Scotland becomes independent.
