The French musicians of Trio Wanderer juggle the shifting moods well. The piano’s limpid cascades are a joy; much to relish, too, in the cellist’s dexterity and brown-bear growl. The violin, slightly weedy in tone, is a minor problem, though not in Mendelssohn’s great first movements, when they’re driving ahead.
