STEPHEN KAY, QC, the former defence counsel of Slobodan Milosevic, has joined the chambers of Anthony Berry, QC, at 9 Bedford Row.
At his new set Kay, formerly of 25 Bedford Row, will be setting up an international law division. Kay is best known for taking on what many regarded as the brief from hell, the defence of Milosevic against charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes at the Hague Tribunal.
Kay said he would be building on the successful record of British barristers at the international criminal courts by creating a specialist advocacy team. It will also offer PR advice to states, politicians and organisations.
