Tottenham prepare to fight off Danny Rose bids

Losing Rose would be a significant blow for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are braced for Manchester United and Inter Milan to escalate their interest in Danny Rose, leaving the north London club at risk of losing both of their full backs this summer.

Rose hinted that he could want a new challenge in May when he said that some players might feel that they had achieved enough at Tottenham. United have shown interest in signing him and have been playing Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian in his position in pre-season. Inter watched Rose before he suffered a knee injury in March.

Losing Rose would be a significant blow for Tottenham, who scouted for full backs for both flanks last season to address the possibility of selling the players. Kyle Walker joined Manchester City and Tottenham would probably want a similar fee of £50 million if they were to sell Rose. The England left back is close to a return to full training after surgery and is expected to be in contention to play this month. He signed a five-year contract last summer, worth around £70,000 a week. Meanwhile, Southampton have inquired about signing Patrick Roberts on loan from Manchester City. The winger played on loan for Celtic last season.
