Topless photographs alleged to be of Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle are of someone else, according to sources close to the American actress.
The photographs were posted on Radar Online, a US gossip website, under the headline: “Topless & Shameless! Harry’s Gal Meghan Markle Bares Her Boobs In Steamy Leaked Photo.”
Kensington Palace declined to comment, as did a spokeswoman for Ms Markle. However, The Times has received assurances that the photographs were not of her.
The article claimed that the photographs were taken on a beach on the Greek island of Mykonos in 2005 when she was on holiday with her ex-husband Trevor Engelson, a film producer. They divorced in 2013.
Six weeks ago Harry issued an appeal to the world’s media to leave Ms Markle alone, saying she had been subjected to a “wave of abuse and harassment”.

The prince’s relationship with Ms Markle, 35, who plays Rachel Zane in the American TV legal drama Suits, has been the subject of intense scrutiny since it emerged that they were dating.
She was photographed when she stayed with him at Kensington Palace before his Caribbean tour and they were seen together again at the theatre in London last week.
