Today’s top supercars line up for a piece of the action

Goodwood is hosting an impressive array of supercars this year. Most will be participating in The Sunday Times Driving Supercar Run — giving spectators a chance to see these exotic cars in action.

If you want to see Ferrari’s new 612bhp 599 GTB smoke its tyres and hear its V12 engine, come to Goodwood. The 880bhp Enzo-basedFXX racer and the Jaguar XKR will be there too.

Not to be outdone, Ferrari’s greatest rival, Lamborghini, will be bringing its new 640bhp Murciélago to stake its claim as the most powerful supercar available for less than £200,000.

And then there’s the money-no-object Bugatti Veyron. If you position yourself at the start and its driver (a certain Charles March) can be persuaded to do a full 1001bhp getaway, we guarantee the resulting spectacle will live in your head for ever.

Homegrown talent making its Goodwood debut includes the new Noble M15 and the Bentley Continental GTC.

Don’t miss the Prodrive P2, an incredibly quick concept car. Another, even more outlandish concept will be the 500bhp V12 Peugeot 907 driven by our own Andrew Frankel.

But if bizarre concepts are your thing, there’s none finer than the Maybach Exelero, the kind of car Mercedes’ ultra-luxury brand would produce if it were ever minded to get into the supercar game.

More affordable newcomers to the run include the frighteningly quick Corvette Z06, the wacky BMW Z4M coupé and the gorgeous Porsche 911 GT3.

A further 30 or so supercars will be put through their paces every day, making the run one of the most popular spectacles at the festival.
