In Memoriam
Today, in the week of Bobby Fischer’s birthday, further extracts of play by that irascible and unpredictable god of chess. A feature of Fischer’s play was his ruthless determination to play for a win under almost any circumstances. His successes in toppling the Soviet chess hierachy and his flamboyant personality made him a household name around the world, even amongst those who did not follow chess closely.
