REAL TIME strategy games do not get much better than Blizzard’s Warcraft III fable. Immersing players in a world of orcs, heroes and magic spells, the new single-player campaign storyline picks up where the last instalment, Reign of Chaos, left off. This quest revolves around the Frozen Throne, a mystic artefact which, when found, will give its possessor ultimate control in this magical playground.
Each race gets several new characters, including a new hero with unique magical powers and spells. There is also a handful of neutral heroes that all players can recruit to supplement and strengthen their army’s abilities. Also, each race now gets to build merchant houses and can, thankfully, queue up building orders.
As well as new maps for online multiplayer action, games played via the internet allow up to nine to take part as a clan. Being a member of a clan brings enticing bonuses, including the opportunity to run an in-game private chat channel to agree tactics so that your strategies and attacks strike with alarming precision.
