In the Supreme Court, the firm represented Romania in a costs dispute between it and the Swedish investors Viorel and Ioan Micula, who were born in Romania. The Micula brothers had made investments in Romania that had benefited from tax incentives, which were abolished when the nation joined the European Union. After extensive litigation, the brothers were claiming the costs of both of the law firms they instructed, which had risen to be in excess of £2 million, to be largely covered by Romania. At the Supreme Court, the firm successfully argued that the brothers could only claim the costs of one law firm, not a combination of both law firms’ costs.

The firm has offices nationwide, including in Bath, Bristol, London and Swindon. It operates in sectors, including agriculture and the rural economy, banking and finance, family law, land development and private client work.
