The War on Democracy

Pilger’s passionate attack on US big business

Directors: John Pilger & Christopher Martin, NC, 2007

Stars: Pilger

Like Michael Moore, Pilger wears his campaigning heart on his sleeve. But his sleeve, unlike Moore’s, has no rabbits up it. Pilger’s thesis, delivered straight to camera, is that the US democratic model has been perverted by big business, whose interests have cost thousands of South American lives. His outrage is genuine, his research thorough, but the film’s real market is viewers who will nod their heads in agreement.
