The Times is inviting good causes to apply to be one of our featured charities in our Christmas appeal.

We like to give all good causes a chance to be selected, so charities that would like to be considered should submit an application. All charities are eligible. Submissions should include some brief background details about the charity and more detailed information about specific projects and case studies that illustrate your work.

Include any analysis of the success of your programmes in terms of their outcomes. Please do not send DVDs or bulky material of any kind. We are looking for a brief and clearly written description of your work and key projects.

We seek to support charities that will benefit from the enormous publicity we can generate during the appeal period, as well as from the money raised from our readers.

The Times commits to running a story featuring the work of our chosen charities each day where possible during December and early January. For that reason, we will look favourably on applications that contain eight or so distinct story ideas that illustrate the work of the charity and, in particular, provide a wide variety of individual human interest stories and illustrated reports from the field. We would also be interested in ideas for video content, such as a very short video to introduce the charity or cause and very short subsequent films on aspect of its work, whether provided by you or working with our multimedia team at The Times.

Last year we supported three charities - Care International UK, Dogs for Good and the Royal Voluntary Service.

Readers of The Times have shown a clear preference for practical and innovative charities that find simple solutions for tough humanitarian challenges. If this sounds like your charity, please apply.

Applications should be submitted by Monday September 18, 2017. They should be addressed to Craig Tregurtha, Managing Editor, The Times, 1 London Bridge Street, London SE1 9GF. They can also be submitted by email to charityappeal@thetimes.co.uk. Please submit applications by email as attachments and not in the body of an email. We will make our decision by mid-October.
