Sir, Two Su Dokus (letter, June 22) saved my life. Had I not had them to do under the table in a non-air-conditioned, six-hour meeting, where the names and grades of thousands of students were read out, and where the highlight was a heated debate on whether a student granted an extension because of illness should be recorded as NS (non-submission) or E (retrievable fail), I should have lost my reason.
Next year the meeting is on June 20. Please print four.

From Mr Des Millward
Sir, Unlike your correspondent Mr Mike Bennett I am not at all worried about the effect of Su Doku on my work. I would deem it a great pleasure to have the Saturday Samurai five-square puzzle each day to relieve the boredom.
