Out to buy on DVD

The Mafia family saga continues with everyone taking stock. That includes boss Tony Soprano (Gandolfini), struggling to regain face after a near-death experience, and his captain, Vito, on the run having been yanked out of the closet. Everyone feels unfulfilled, including Tony’s nephew (Imperioli) who hilariously confronts Ben Kingsley in LA with his “The Ring meets The Godfather” film script. As Tony complains to his therapist, every day is a gift but does every gift have to be socks? In gift terms, the extras veer towards socks.

Commentaries on four episodes come from selected cast members, two writers and the show’s creator, David Chase, who responds to fan criticisms that this sixth season has been too slow and meditative.
